SO if you haven't heard yet, I set up a web page to help sponsor mycotopia, and fund my local value added agricultural operation. Currently it is a one page website and what you see is what you get at this time. I will add a couple more products in the future...but the fact remains..............

I NEED A BANNER NOW FOR www.MycoPorn.com

For those of you with the talent and are interested, I could really use a good banner. In exchange for the use of whomever’s banner I feel best represents my site I will send you 3 small bags of spawn your choice of strains with matching sawdust, all of which have detailed growing instructions found here on the board (except for Golden oyster and Turkey Tail), plus a spore print (B+) if interested.

To help start you off I made a few trial banners that can be viewed at the top of the www.MycoPorn.com home page. The size requirement for the banner here at mycotopia is 468x60. My initial idea was to have those 4 jpg pictures cycle out over a timed interval (crude but effective and to the point eh). Alot of people use dial-up so it does not have to be all that flashy.

if by size you mean the file, not pixels,
it should fall in the range of the others already here-
100-200 kb or less

Hey, im dallas boy, just thought id introduce myself while this is my first post on mycotopia..usually i hang out at sporelab.com. But I visit this site alot also due to its wealth of knowledge.
Heres a banner i made, decided to keep it simple. I thought including the 'kiss' would keep it at an appropriate level in comparison to the title.

Anyways,i need some zzz's, i might make more banners later.

Thank you for that entry, that is beautiful and I really like the animation…I think the domain is a catchy name too, probably had the same thoughts too at one point…sex does sell

Would love to see those other ideas, after all they run BNL threads here now and again so as long as it is done in taste...you can always PM me the questionable ones...or send them to Hip3 too for approval.

Im curious, is your main website layout going to change anytime soon? Because it would be good to base the banner. eg the text, logos, colours.. to what is on the website. Also, do you have a link to higher quality photos which are free for use and editing?...i dont want to submit banner with uncredited photos and have someone get pissed.

Thanks for asking, and no I do not plan on changing the layout anytime soon and sorry for the picture quality ...the only upgrade I see happening next is to add more product line such as pre-inoculated jars. Here are a couple of my threads that have more picture selection…otherwise the only other access to my pics are via an e-mail….but most of the best pics are already posted here.

Also…I did notice that those pics in your recent banner were not mine…so I can’t use them…it took me a while to cut a deal with my spawn guy..and those pics belong to the “other” spawn guy as far as I know (less my spawn guy sells cultures to that spawn guy but even then they are not pics that I made myself).

A better camera and pics are some of my goals for this next year. I really like your first submission.

Yes, thats sorta why i asked if you have any images i could use. Thanks for the links, heres another banner. The two mushroom Images are from Mycotopia Edibles gallery, and are from the member Waylitjim, i believe.

I really like the new back grounds, the blue and hardwood. Maybe you could trade out the gray background from the first banner with one of those...I want to refrain from using other peoples pictures.

heres some more, different blue and woods, just small changes. Flashing 'visit now', lighter and the darker woodbackground. Also some other text.

Not to derail your thread, SpaceCowboy, but what sort of value-added agricultural operation do you run? Local projects of a progressive nature are of great interest to me; what'cha up to? And good luck with the site, of course. I'd offer to lend you my artistic talents, but they would be virtually guaranteed to drive people away in wailing droves.

Recycling sawdust...the local landowners that run mills have to pay to tractor trailer the sawdust off their properties as waste...From there I think it goes to fuel pellets, particle board, or just sits somewhere in a pile wasting space and causing hazard.

sorry, cannot do that because that domain name is an adult forums exclusive buzzword and on a time schedule for debut...would not be proper to change the game plan at this time...however...I do have a 2nd domain that follows the same format... plse keep in touch…..its more family oriented and I hope to use Mother Earth News and eBay to cash in on it.
