The Great Panaeolus contest

With as many folks now cultivating these fine species , i thought it would be fun to have a little contest...
Any Pan Trop,Pan cyan or Pan cambo is elegible...
This does not include the large inactive specie..

Prize is $50 bucks for largest diameter cap
and $50 bucks for the tallest ...
Contest is open to any Member of Topia and entries will be judged on St.Swithins day, so you have plenty of time...

All entries for cap size must have the cap positioned face down on top of a ruler [metric or inches] so that a precise measurement can be seen..
Also another pic with the gills face up..
The word "Mycotopia" should be in every pic...

For tallest mushroom ,remove half of the cap so that it can be placed flat
on a ruler for a clear measurement...

The winner will probably win by a hair, so accurate measurement is important...If the pix are not clear enough to determine size then they won't
be accepted....

I need another Moderator willing to judge this contest..

Also $50 will be donated to Topia on St.Swithins day..If anyone would like to
add a couple bucks to the Topia fund u can post here too...

Should be a fun contest, so Guys - load those jars , contest starts NOW...

Yep, any Mod/member except for the judge can enter..
July 15 is St, Swithins day ..this gives time for honing skills + the largest are often seen in summer, indoors when ambient RH is higher...
Enter as many times as u like...Waylit's specie shown above is not included ,so don't feel
intimidated..

Early Entry:

Here's my accidental pan LGFLCY. I neglected these tubs to the point of total darkness for 2 weeks and when I went to clean up the "mess" I found this lovely fruit. I have no idea if its big by pan standards as I have no experience with them. They were grown in small tubs as per waylitjim's pan cyan tek.

Just to get the ball rolling ... length ---- 4 and 5/8 inches , cap width ---- 1 inch and 1/16 inches

The cap was so heavy that the stem broke (see pic 1) !

To bad..maybe it could grow a little more,till it turned white....
But I'm happy with it !

Thanks Vinz...

I added a little extra moist verm ,on top of the casing after the second flush,to get some bigger shrooms,..and it worked.

This was one of the third or fourth flush.

Alright! This is gonna be good. Now were really testing the potential of the exotic strains and their growers.

I wish my foaf didn't live in a house with 7 people otherwise I am sure he'd be on this one.

well lets share what we know.is goliath generally the biggest as the name implies?straw and horse poo the best substrate?are in door grows usually bigger than outside?

Hi Pedestrian,..I was right,when I thought this tread would get your attention..lol

As far as I know ,Sandoze has used a domesticated strain,and worked on it for a long time,so it would even produce better shrooms indoor on multispore...
He likes doing that,and does it with alot of Pan stains.
To bad I haven't heard from him in a long time,..I hope all is fine with him...
