Good to see others getting back into the hobbie. I recently came back from a stint myself. I dont really know if stint is a word....but im gonna use it anyway.
The (good) growth in that dish is amazing looking! Thats the mycelium that makes that particular mushroom? Also whats with the browning where the 2 meet?

Don't be fooled by their appearance. Reishi is one of the most studied and highly prized medicinal mushrooms on the market. Awesome work Fucgu!

Now doing mostly agar work to wake up some cultures.Here some more pictures.
Still got a lot of building and rebuilding to do, but at least got back a little space in the kitchen.

-yes,thant is the mycelia that produces these mushrooms,gues the browning is some kind of protective coat.

I really miss coming here!

and a little more i managed to grow up there in that last shelf of the wardrobe between dirty clothes,actually they all grew themselfs.

-plastic jars,have used this kind of jars almost from the beggining,they do just fine after many many times in the autoclave

grains boiled (think here cheap white rice was used,couse i like using oat grains usually) mixed with dry vermiculite,load in plastic jars,no tyvek no filters just aluminium folio,sterilized in the autoclave,innoculated with liquid culture

-To the left Hawaians and to the right RRredboys50%,there is some bacterial infection with the redboys couse they did not look like this in previous grows.
Got another print of redboys which is 70%,but no matter how many transfers and also new spores to PDA always get this kind of ill and week looking mycelia,
maybe i should innoculate some grains and see what happens.
