King Trumpet & Shiitake

It's been a while since I've shared some edibles. Here's a few shots of Pleurotus eryngii & Lentinula edodes grown on blocks of red oak sawdust, rice bran, and gypsum. The bags were sterilized and inoculated rye grain spawn. The fruiting cycle is completed in 90 days from the date of inoculation, yielding three flushes and averaging 2 pounds of mushrooms per block. fruiting temps were kept at 60-70 F with the relative humidity around 85%.

Yum....I discovered that the King and the Shiit complement each other very well in the same dish...Are those home grown..? if so do u just use a regular air conditioner to maintain those temps...?

Waylit, I got to say, your work is awesome man. Where do you get your bags to do the bulk substrate. Do you stuff those bags and PC them and then inoculate with an LC or do you pasteurize the stuff throw it in a bag with some spawn? Thanks for the help brother

Thanks man. I get the mycobags from a wholesale supplier, but they're very similar to the bags you can purchase at Sporeworks. The bags are sterilized and inocultaed with grain spawn, usually millet or Rye. http://sporeworks.com/store/product....cat=258&page=1

I'm also working with Ganoderma Lucidum, I'll have some nice photos to share soon.
