Congrats Golly! ![]() There's only a handful of people who've cultivated Psilocybe caerulipes. You are now one of them! Your patience and dedication is honorable.

Thanx for the kind words... The fruit take a bit longer than Cubes to mature , proly harvest the first ones tmrw..I'll test for potency Wed or Sat.. Gluk with your grows guys ...patience and fresh air seem to be the key players,,the myc is quite tough and aggressive ,so it doesn't have to be coddled... |

Not really Laz..The one tub that i put in the freezer is the one that has not fruited yet...I think they just need time to engulf the wood chips..the temps have generally been warming over the last few weeks and proly stimulated fruiting.. I have 3 fresh prints to give away, to any one who has posted in this thread so far... [1 each] ...Just briefly tell how u want to grow em... So the first 3 peeps gets m' As more become available, i will offer them too... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | What a kind offer golly! I hope whomever takes you up on it, and has a fruitful experience. Atm, all stocked up here. However.... hehe.. at a later time....or when you have extras, you may hear from me lol. I'm Sooo happy to see a succesful attempt at these ! Inspiring for sure!2 slightly contaminated (wet spot, and a lil lipstick or purple mold) jars of rye, hickory chips, and birch toothpicks were spawned to an outdoor bed today. The bed was prepped beneath a rhododendron last fall. It contains a mixture of castings, top soil, and hickory wood chips. Nice rhizo myc being txferred to agar plate tonight. foster

Man...how can I be so happy for you and depressed at the same time? I have never recieved fruits for my labors and that is even trying the transfer outdoor myc trick. But I know now half of my problem was lack of fresh air, so maybe I will try again.

Hey Golly, I would like to get one and start it on agar(what recipe would fit these well?) then spawn it to some ground birch and/or maple. after that colonizes I would like to do a tek similar to this http://forums.mycotopia.net/showthread.php?t=7476 (Psilocybe caerulipes) by mushpuppet, posted be Waylit. Do you think that pasteurizing the river sand would be a benefit? |

U got one Coyote..PM yer addy... Any of the usual Agar formulas should work ,although have not tried with these.. You should be able to go direct to spawn too ,,,Whole grain flour coated wood chips, or even PF tec to start.. Any of the softer hardwoods should colo fast ,but did read one report about Aspen not working... |

CM/Foster, prints have been sent... Well the first taste test is in...1gram produced a buzz slightly stronger than a Cube, maybe 1.3 X ...The main difference is the smooth and pleasant body effect ,A more sophisticated [for lack of a better word] experience.. Good light visuals..Definately worth exploring more deeply..heh... I have noticed that pinning occurs more with sub temps in the 60s..Cause when i brought a couple indoors where it's 74F ,no new pins formed until i moved em back out in the cooler GH...Could be a co-inkydink but may be worth trying .. |

Cool Golly! Pinning info noted. Mother Nature must be listening too. Temps being a lil warmer than usual, seem perfect for colonization atm, and will hopefully drop back to normal for a nice pinning enviroment. great stuff foster |

Golly, do you think that it would be worth my time to iso. my print on agar first. Or would that just be a bit of a waist. Also if I do use a dish, should I sector it the same as pans or cubies? I know this may sound like a dumb question and my guess would be to treat it the same. But I have never worked with a wood/cold loving species |

I would recommend using a small part of the print for direct grain spawn culture and an even smaller [tiny] amount for agar.. Yes , sector out the most agressive myc for expantion...The prints should be fairly clean...I went direct to spawn with no problem... It's my opinion that fruiting would be enhanced by cloning/ isolation ..With cloning being the most reliable method.. |

The new clones seem to be taking off , on wood mulch and cardboard... Tried another dose ,this time 1.25g and was much stronger in effect. Equal to 3 grams o' Cubes.. ..Again, a very nice, tight trip that does not linger on, like with Panaeolus...

There is just something odd about bieng in the woods and having the guy next to you smacking his lips, making sickening smooching sounds and dribbling blue drool while snacking on the first fresh bluefoot. Ah the joys of spring.....

Here's a look at a Bluefoot clone, about a week old.. The method seems to work well for this woodlover.. In a small plastic tray with drain holes , hydrated shredded wood mulch was boiled/drained, then placed inside.. A whole mushroom was dropped into a blender with a halfcup distilled water and chopped up.. The fragged mush/water was then poured onto the shredded mulch and allowed to drain out.. The tray is then partially covered ,maybe 80% ..After a few days when it began to dry a little , it was very lightly misted.. The fresh air is essential to prevent molds from germinating... When this tray is more colo'd - it will be spawned to a larger batch of mulch n' chips..It'll proly take a couple months to expand enough for fruiting... |

![]() ![]() | Re: this species has been named
The species in question is Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata. It is close to P. stuntzii microscopically. And while mushpuppet wrote of small differences, there are more than just the annulus on the mushrooms. Here is the paper minus the illustration and line drawings since I do not know how to post a picture here unless I take one from another site. So this is the article on the shroom, which is a separat e species fromthat of the p. caerulipes. Quote:
