![]() | i used 40% straw, 40% grassseed and 20% compost. i don't use BRF normally, just compost+straw for my pans but they seem to like the grassseeds a lot. they grow much better on this substrate then on a 30:70 compost straw mix.

![]() ![]() | Anyone really - eatualive mentioned popcorn, but my question was aimed at finding out if all the ingredients are mixed in together before injecting sporesor is this the result of colobised corn/grass seed being put into jars of straw and compost....also wanted to know if regular compost ok? thanks |

![]() | just mixed an pressure cooked. i don't like bulking. you just have one step more if you bulk but no better result if you don't want to produce big amounts

![]() | it's from one of my own compost piles and there lands about everything that rots from my kitchen and garden and it stood about 4 years. i think the grass seeds are very important in this mixture, because with a straw/compost mix it took them much longer to colonize the jars. it will take another 2-3 days till they get cased

![]() | the first pan. cambodginiensis casing doesn't look to good. i took only coco for the casing layer and it seem as if it doesn't work good. the other two casings look better. der mycel grows much better on those if the the smaller ones get pins before the big one gets some i'll turn it upside down and give it a peat/calcium carbonate casing layer like the others have on the other side. 2x P. cubensis, 2x Pan. cambodginiensis, 1x Pan. tropicalis ![]()

![]() | both ![]() and i really think of trying to flip it, because than i can handle it like a cake, but i can give it a casing soil also on the sides, an the growht on pure cocohum realy seems to be bad. it was cased about 3 or 4 days before the other two an shows just a little bit of mycel growing on the surface. it was held under same conditions and hasn't shown any pins yet. maybe i'll wait a bit longer, but alltogether i think it could be interestign to try it (i think i just have too much free time)

![]() | @prankster: you should know we only send bad people from braunau to germany ![]() and also it wouldn't be good for us to send you our women. they're the only good thing about this damn coutry ^^ yesterday the pins were just little white points, so i couldn't make a pic, but here it is... the first pic of my pan. cambodginiensis fruits. alltogether there are 5 pins on this cake as big as this and 100+ realy small ones ![]() ![]() on the tropicalis cake there are only 2 as big as those on the pic above and not as much small ones than on the cambodginiensis, but also 50+ seems to go well. let's see how much get big ![]() i just love to see them grow ![]()
