8-1/2 Pint Waylit Poo Cakes nocced up with a healthy LC on the 30th. I cased the cake early yesterday morning after removing the verm layer with a clean fork. After casing I misted really well and let it sit in incubation until about an hour ago, then into the fc it went. I love this strain its a aggressive colonizer but the best part is the fruits its kicks out. The cap is small, lumpy and odd looking, but the stem is very thick and dense even upon drying. When most other Pans dry and look like toothpicks these guys keep their weight pretty well, imo.

Posted that pic above for ya, there will be plenty of new ones to come. You can use BRF cakes as spawn without poo to a bulk substrate with Poo, Pans are Coprophiliacs and generally require poo to fruit.

with poo,
i just dont want that in my clean jars (yucky) lol.

hehe i managed to fire up a sample of mycobri's white Tex Copes! on agar now and looking really nice.. think i'll use this same tek. the spores were pigmented so i doubt we'll see any white flushes, but maybe a few fruits!

Got these from Mycobri a while back as well, I didnt see any white either from the 2 runs Ive done with it

you can also use compost instead of poo. always worked fine for me

and i've also seen panaeolus grows in a german forum without any poo or compost and nice yields on grass seed and birdseed

i'll try them on hulled millet too. every other pan i have tried loves it. hell, everything fruits on millet for me!

I always look at h-poo a pre processed straw and alfalfa anyway

Mabye its time for feds to play with Millet and RGS for Pan grows.

how much poo per jar you using ?

I do up batches so:

Im going with 5 cups poo, 5 cups verm, 1 cup coarsely ground brown rice, 1/4 cup of Coconut, a couple teaspoons of blue and yellow cornmeal, a couple tsp of Golden flax seed. I grind most of the stuff fresh in my magic bullet prior to use. I gotta give you credit on the Supercake additions Hip, they sure do help uniform and speedy colonization. I am mixing both Waylit's Pan Cyan Tek and your Supercake formula ala SuperPanCake It has been good to me.

Everything is dry when I mix it. I havent measured the water because Im constantly mixing with a hand blender while the water is coming out of the tap in attempt to make the consistency good. I go on the dry side of field capacity though. Ill do a jar test too, loading one jar with a little substrate. If the sub smears on the bottom of the jar its too wet . Next batch of jars I will have to measure water

It should work fine Just remember to go thin on the casing application, mist well and let it be. Another thing to consider with pans are the fruiting conditions. They like a considerable amount of fresh air and humidity. I like to use a seperate fc dedicated to them http://forums.mycotopia.net/fungi-gr...-fc-setup.html
