Hey guys,

I just started a cactus collection and have ordered a bunch of seedlings, cuttings and grafts from various places. They have all come in the mail bare root, except some p. torches that came potted. I repotted everything in cactus mix + perlite in a 50/50 mix and have all the new arrivals outside sitting in pretty much 100% shade for the past week and a half now. I was wondering if I can start slowly acclimating them to the sun? Or is there some way of telling if they are ready to be in the sun yet?

thanks!

BREAKING NEWS: House Passes Version of the National Criminal Justice Commission Act -- Ask the Senate to Do Likewise

On Tuesday, June 27, House members passed by voice vote H.R. 5143, the House version of the National Criminal Justice Commission Act of 2010. The purpose of this bill is to initiate a comprehensive re-evaluation of America's drug and prison policies. According to the measure's House sponsor, Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-MA). "Today our prison population is expanding at an alarming rate, with costs to the taxpayers that are unsustainable. ... The bill passed tonight will assess the current crisis, reverse these disturbing trends and help save taxpayer money."

House Bill 5143 is a companion bill to S. 714, championed by Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA). Senate Bill 714 will establish a 'National Criminal Justice Commission' to hold public hearings and "undertake a comprehensive review of the criminal justice system, including Federal, State, local, and tribal governments' criminal justice costs, practices, and policies. ... The Commission shall make findings regarding such review and recommendations for changes in oversight, policies, practices, and laws designed to prevent, deter, and reduce crime and violence, improve cost-effectiveness, and ensure the interests of justice at every step of the criminal justice system."

The measure awaits action by the full Senate.

Please take time today to urge your senators to support Senate Bill 714. For your convenience, a prewritten letter will be e-mailed to your member of Congress when you visit NORML's 'Take Action Center' here:

Thank you for assisting NORML's federal law reform efforts.

Sincerely,
The NORML Team

These five minibulks have just finished colonizing; now they only need some fresh air and light!
Strains: Texas and Perez (wild strain gathered in a field in Perez, a little village near Rosario, Argentina). I numbered the tubs cause I really don't know which strain has each tub!
Spawn: Popcorn innoculated with MS.
Substrate: 40% coir - 30% verm - 30% "Terrafertil" bagged compost. I always use this compost with good results. The bag says it only has composted Hpoo and Cow poo. There are many wood pieces that I remove before mixing the substrate. I don't correct its PH cause the bag says it is 8,5 / 9.

So made up this batch of half pints, first time with these jars, and the excess water I'm used to being able to shake onto kernels in my quarts turned out to be a problem.
So here's what I've got. These jars were made on the 20th of last week. They started out strong, however after the first shake I noticed that the water had picked up a starchy fermented look, almost paste like. After the first shake the jars were left for a few days, and rechecked to see that the myc was growing strong, but looked a bit off color in places, if not just a bit wet.
So my question now, do these jars look contam'd, or are they just over wet? I'm going to let these sit for probably another week (not going to be shaking again I don't think) before I do anything with them (birthing or dumping, either way). I dumped out 6 jars that were noc'd with what seems to have been a bunk syringe that I made. These were made on the same PC run, and also had the slightly fermented liquid in the bottom, which did smell somewhat off.
Comments and questions welcome.

The pictures, each shot is just a different side of the jars. Rotated around between pics.

began by using 1 part brown flower/1 part vermiculite. I soaked the verm and drained.I added the brown rice flower slowly and mixed until all verm was coated with flower. I added to my jars (glasses) and sterilized for an hour at 20 psi. My hands were washed and sterilized up to my elbows. I wiped off the top 1/2 inch of the jar and added another 1/2 inch of dry verm. My jars were coated in clean foil and inoculated through it by syringe at four corners. micro-pore tape has been added o every hole in the foil. The jars were kept in a Coleman cooler between 80-88 *f. I will add photos every few days. These are my first attempt at p. cubensis with the pf tech.
I will be doing a liquid suspension of azurescens for lq inoculation in the fallowing weeks. I will also hopefully fruiting these and working on a step my step cloning guide according to the info taken form this site. I take no credit other than being a noob who is meticulous in procedure and being led by those before me. When I pioneer my own shit Ill make it clear.
I will post again soon as my cakes colonize. I would like to add that everyone has made it clear my first few attempts will be pointless because of contamination, that i need a three hundred dollar kit to get anywhere. I saved samples of shrooms i thoroughly enjoyed for a year to get here. It can be done noob or not.
http://i31.tinypic.com/w8uiwn.jpg
day 14
These are about a month old. They spread through most of the substrate but I think I made them a little too damp and it slowed them down. Ive decided to case two of them and fruit the other as a cake to see which has better yields even though I have my predictions. All of theses were started at the same time and were under identical conditions so Im curious to see how they do.
http://i32.tinypic.com/24fmfww.jpg
http://i26.tinypic.com/8xrfd1.jpg
I birthed these into a plastic bag and cut them into cookies with a sterilized butter knife. the extra substrate was removed and the slices were put into the containers I will try to fruit them in.
http://i28.tinypic.com/2crrqc9.jpg
of the jars im incubating for the next batch this was my first contamination-yellow mold of some kind. this was a test jar to see how much i could slack before i got contaminated. i washed my hands with sanitizer and worked quick but used no glovebox and the area wasn't cleaned beforehand. i did limit air movement by blocking my vents but didnt take any other precautions. they were still pc'd for an hour at 20 psi. this and one other unrelated green contamination have been the only two for me so far. this isn't my common practice but its good to know.
http://i28.tinypic.com/dw9wll.jpg
I lost both the cakes above to trych in my fruiting chamber and it sucked. The cake I had soaking still was fine and super healthy so I bleached the shit out of my fc and gave it a shot. After a week or so of nothing (just mild bluing while I adjusted my humidity) and then yesterday it started growing arms out of the bottom.
http://i32.tinypic.com/ih1aih.jpg
The mycelium was stretching out to nothing when the knots set in. I thought it was perlite stuck to my cake until I tried to brush one off. It just started developing caps this morning. Tons of pins starting, I hope they all develop. Looks like the first flush in my life will be decent.
http://i28.tinypic.com/o8tnhl.jpg
All of them are coming from the bottom which makes me think I need to bring my humidity up some. I am so excited! I dont know what these will look like because I dont know if they are a special strain or just wild. The spores came from a bag I acquired a year ago.
Update- doing well, no aborts yet. Tons of pins developing. Update pics.
Also sorry these pics are so friggin big, I dont have time to resize now, at least theyre decent resolution right??:kewl:

A FOAF recently started his first batch of cakes, and since has been research different techniques, strains etc. He asked me if it would be possible to infuse the BRF cakes with JWH.
It's used in herb mixes to make an insence that has the same effects as marijuana, but legal. Has anyone here tried this? I've been told that when tripping some herb will make the trip smoother and reduce the nausea, but this FOAF doesn't like to smoke. If the JWH was put into the cakes in a small amount is it possible that the shroomies would gain some of its effects? How would one go about sterilizing the JWH. Any extra chance for contams? We both decided theres only one real way to find out is to experiment and he hopes to attempt it once he has a few more grows under his belt, any advice or experience?

Hey fellow topiates,

Recently i have stopped taking my medication which reacted badly with my LSD trips, so i would like to think i have never experienced the true power of this substance. My regular does being 1 or 2 squares.

First off quitting my meds cold turkey should have thrown me into a suicidal depression spiral, but i am here weeks later writing this and have been in the best mood of my life these past weeks.

Thanks to a good mate i met on here i was able to use some fungi that has made a big change in the way i perceive life and feel about others.

Im not sure what brought me to do what i've just done but all things happen for a reason and i'm sure this question will be answered shortly.

I have dosed 4 squares of unknown quantity, rumored to be 100-125uq per square. I realise 1 or 2 would have been enough to make significant progress but i feel like having such a big hit will help me rip myself apart and realign in a whole new way.

Im generally shy and not good with words but id like to share my experience with you all, over the course of my trip and further thoughts in the coming days.

I have started 24 half pint jars using the super brf cakes. 12 were started with the Texas strain on the 12th of July. 12 were injected with F+ on the 20th of July. I used the air port tek to unpressurize the jars. Instead of using wet cotton balls and sterilizing the syringe and cotton together in the PC I used 10% bleach water in the cotton and rung all of the liquid out that I could.

I have absolutely no growth in any of the jars and I'm starting to think that the bleach water mixture was somehow introduced the the jars. I saw no liquid at all enter the jars, so my question is this. Is there enough bleach in the air to prevent anything from growing in the jars? I was almost sure it wouldn't kill anything, but I could be wrong.
