I would say thats not even enough for one but they call me crazy ![]() About tea, I dont think you loose much if any. I was concerned about this so the first time when I made tea, I kept all mushrooms and stored them in the fridge. Two days later I ate all on an empty stomach and didnt have any effect. I used this simple recipe which works great: cook one portion of water, turn of the fire and put the teared up mushrooms in it. Stir a bit, let sit for about 10 minutes, strain. Repeat with fresh water. With a little honey added, it tastes really good |

My FOAF's tea method starts with dried shrooms. He throws them in the coffee grinder and grinds them up. Then he fills some loose tea filters (available anywhere that sells loose tea) with 1 gram apiece - makes it easy to gauge how much he wants to ingest later. Boil water and pour it into a teacup with a (regular) teabag and let it steep for about 10-15 minutes. At this point the water shouldn't be too hot anymore (one rule of thumb is if you can stick your finger in it comfortably, it's not too hot). Then put the mushroom teabag(s) in and let it steep for about 10 minutes, take the bag out and squeeze every last drop out and drop it back in for another 5 minutes. Squeeze again, add milk and honey if you like, and drink.

From my experience, the only way to get rid of the baddies is to perform an everclear extraction, which is just as easy as making tea, but it takes a few weeks. ![]() soliver | |

I make my tea sans teabag. I just take the powdered shroom dust and pour it into my cup of hot water. Sometimes I add a flavoured tea bag for, well, flavour. I find that the powder goes down easily for the most part with minimal chewing. And this way, if there IS any magic left in the mushroom, I get that bit as well. As an added bonus, it seems that most of the vermiculite, if there is any, falls to the bottom of the cup which I can then throw out when I drink down to it. |

The oxidizing they go through when you chop them looks ugly to me, that's all really. A big pile of blue mushroom chunks makes me leary sort of. I'm not sure if it made a difference in the potency of the tea. I figured why oxidize the mushrooms by chopping them up when you can just throw them into the pot. I don't know.

Mason jar on a blender powders dry shrooms totally boiling the actual shrooms seems to kill potency ime. My Pref. Pour 3-4oz hot water over shroom powder, let sit 5-10 min. add 4oz chai tea (the boxes make all the difference) a little sugar/honey & milk. down it goes. Chai seems to change the flavor so it's actually tasty, rather than mask it.

There's a lot of Turkey Tail Mushrooms growing in our yard lately. And i've read that i makes good tea. I'd like to collect them all and sun-dry them. Is it ok if i pattern my recipe with yours? I havent tried making tea of my own most especially from mushrooms. 1. Dry the shrooms. 2. Grate them using my HandyChef. 3. Place them in Tea Bags. 4. Boil water and pour into tea cup. 5. Dip one turkey tail tea bag and set for 5 minutes. 6. Dip in and out for a few times. 7. Add wild bee's honey. Old folks here in my place thinks that mushrooms are poisonous. The MycoTopia tells me the otherwise. I can now even tell that those i found in the backyard are Turkey Tail. Some are reshie. A few are Chanterelle Trumpets. However, a very small portion of my head tells me that i might poison me. Is there a chance that turkey tails might poison me?
