Actually i'm sure it wont burn yer nose at all ,or i would have noticed it when i swallowed pure crystals a few days ago ..They are still highly active when fresh dried ..I was thinking about applying some wet crystals as an arm patch just for giggles...

Ok The armpatch absorbtion test is underway...5cc extract or about 2 gram dry equivelent was injected on to a p towel strip and secured on my arm with cling wrap...it's been 12mins, my arm feels warm from the alcohol..I'm gonna go take a catnap...later

update...now at 95 mins i can just feel it coming on...At 70 mins i thought i had a hightened awareness but there were no body signals ...Now i'm getting that familiar ringing sound in my head + a slight trippy feeling..
My arm is still warm from the alcohol -not uncomfortable at all..

Heh...Well at 3 hrs my guess is that around 20 - 25% efficiency in transfering those two grams...I removed the patch and it was still a bit wet, so i'm sure plenty of psillo remains ..
I think if it was actually painted on a larger surface area of skin then there would be a much better transfer...
It would have to be covered to prevent drying...

Another possibility would be to mix with Coconut oil and rub it in...Hmmm...i'll try that next weekend....he..heee.. get'n all anointed...

try usin DMSO..in combo with the extract and patch..i'm
almost positive that that would work...

actually someone did a test with DMSO long ago on our old board and reported it worked ok, no great surprise there.
we also occasionally hear reports of people getting a mild buzz after picking large quantities.

i remember too...BUT...he just took the mixture and dumped it on top

That could be a usefull tip PJ...From reading around, DMSO sounds safe enough.
In fact i think i will order some [available at healthfood stores] It's primarily used as an alternative for joint pain /arthritus relief although not FDA approved for such....First i will try the coconut oil...
Also thinking that could be usefull for ingestion of other horrible tasting compounds like Kratom and Cactus ect...

My FoaF ground 30 grams dried and soaked in 300 ML of everclear for almost 3 weeks now..He poured off the liquid into a mason jar (filtered thru coffee filter 3 times) The rusult is a beautiful mushroom scented amber liquid that is approx 300 ML still...how far down should he allow evaporation ? 150 ML?

yeah golly it's pretty safe me thinks...

I let mine evaporate down about 80%. It's really a matter of preference though. The crystals form upon evaporation for the most part so I'd maybe go farther than 50%. The main thing is to leave enough liquid to cover the crystals when stored.

Those bottles i posted earlier precipitated about 1/4 of the volume in crystals at a ratio of 3 dry grams to 5 ml everclear [when placed in freezer]
The ACTUAL potency is about 70% of the original dry material...So in this case 30% was lost through the extraction proccess...
The efficiency can proly be improved with longer soak times but I'm plenty happy with these results....

It was evap to 100 ML and left in freezer over 24 hours and there arent any visible crystals. Any idea why?

Were the shrooms chopped or ground up - could be a factor ..Of course the best way to know what you've got is the taste test - it could still be potent..

OK the final test ; A 50/50 mix of DMSO and tincture of shroomz will be applied to the skin and covered with clingwrap....Using a 2gram equivelent ,evapourated down to 1cc...This ones for u PJ...heh...

Now at 75mins and i'm developing a very nice buzzzz,,,took an hour to feel the first effect.
I swabbed it on the inside forearm ..no burning sensation..i did detect a slight metalic taste in me mouth but thats about it..

Yes ...Smoother ,maybe in part, due to a more gradual come up...Will have to try a 4gram dose for better insight ..heh..I also would like to know if i can apply this stuff without having to cover it up with plastic wrap - cause that would mean you could do a very large dose with less hassle..
Will have to check the evapouration rate in open air for dmso...
Interesting note,,,the bottle indicates that dmso freezes at 65F...

No patch , i just applied like suntan lotion...
I tested the dmso for open air evap time and it looks favorable to apply uncovered ...Takes a very long time to evapourate unlike other solvents and is somewhat oily in nature...

No noticable side effects...I later tried a full body "anointing" type experiment with a 50/50 mix of extract and DMSO ,This time i did not cover
With plastic ...I would say the absorbtion rate dropped to about 50% due to drying...
I guess my main concern is long term negative effects from repeated use
of this controvertial chemical...My decision is....when in doubt, leave it out....heh...

Tonight I'm testing an extract that has been defatted in Pet either..
First as a tea , then as an everclear tincture...
Reason being is that a straight everclear extract is very oily - so maybe the defatting will clarify it further...It's also possible that it removed all the
psilly too...
Only one way to know for sure....

I've read that the crystals aren't psilo at all, but carbs and such from the mushroom. The psilo is in the liquid, so I've read. I forget where, but someone tried just the liquid and just the crystals (obtained so as to minimize contact time w/ air) and the liquid rocked them but the crystals merely tasted sweet, as a carbohydrate would, like table sugar. This might change a few procedures... I am curious about yer thoughts on it, I have no idea yet... don't have any on hand to test with.

I agree with you tv ,have dosed with just wet crystals and had about the same potency as an equal volume of the liquid...Now if u evapourate all the liquid down to those crystals - then they will give ya a hella punch,,,, but if U just pour off the liquid and eat the crystals then there is really not much to em IME...

Well the Tea i made after the Pet either wash, packed a real wallop so none of the psilly was washed out....The tea had much less shroom flavour and produced a clean clear trip...It was also filtered thru a 3micron filter...

The rest of the treated mush is now being extracted into everclear and will be filtered thru a 1 micron filter...The result should be the cleanest possible
isolation of the goodies....

Well to wrap up my final extract results from the defatted and everclear extracted essense...I have to say, this is the sweetest tasting shroom product
ever...Looks and smells like a fine red wine with a twist , u would never imagine it contains cubees...I mixed some with apple juice today and it was exceptional. The oilyness is gone ...
I would highly recommend this ,except for the fact that pure petroleum ether is hard to come by and the naptha contains an unknown residue when
evapourated down in a glass bowl....
Maybe some kind of solar still could be used to purify the PE...
Although there was no hint of residue in the taste of the final product -there had to be some tiny amount present...

OK..i'm a big fat liar....I have another idea for the ultimate extraction...

Recently a new member posted the idea of using an everclear wash prior to
making Tea for the purpose of removing some unwanted impurities...

Well ,my thinking is to try this wash prior to the final extraction with more Everclear...
So i soaked 64 dry grams of powdered Cubes in warm Everclear [120F] for about 45 mins [fist pic]...

Then poured through a cloth filter [2nd pic]...
The cloth is a good method for squeezing out the remaining juice by twisting [3rd pic]...

The remaining mush is placed back in the Qt jar and fresh everclear is added , along with a half tspn of ascorbic acid crystals...[last pic]

In theory -if it takes 2 weeks to extract the psilly then less than 1% should have been lost in the wash...I'm drying down the washing solution to analyze ...

At least this method [if it works] is safe relative to P.Ether
