Yeah. I'm digging that, man! Damn nice job!
I'm curious about this cream o wheat theng too. It did not get to clumpy? I've thought about using it before but figured it would be just to sticky...hell if it worked oatmeal may too. Did you cut it with anything like vermiculite?

Archive material to teks / alternative substrate material.

    How i do this substrate:

First i let the wheat rehidratate in mineral water for 24h, this also let the endospores to germinate before sterilization. After the 24h i cook the wheat for about 30 - 40 minutes in a normal can. After that i dry the excessive water and add one soapspoon of cremogema - a oatmeal powder - to each 500ml.

Pressure can for 40m and just this.

Total colonization of 650ml in 7 days.

I took the another half of colonized substrat to make a normal casing, and this half tried in vitro, but with a casing cover. The whole glass was with colonized wheat but just a half fruited in vittro.

The inocculation process is very important too. After inoculation i always shake the glass to spread the spore solution glass-wide.

I dont need to correct the ph in this substrate, it seems to be neutral, but not tested with specific tester yet.

The grains be very free after shaking, but it has to be done while is still warm.

So you use wheat grains with a small amount of the cream of wheat added to it? Is this correct?

I think No. I will try to explain better.

I took the wheat grains and make the process up talked. And after the all process, one step before the sterelization, i add the oatmeal powder to the grains and mix then togheter, after that I put this mix in glasses and sterilize them at the pressure can.

I dont use the ready oatmeal, I use the powder, with no milk.

Cremogema is a powder that you add to milk to make oatmeal, I dont use the milk, just add the cremogema powder to the grains - and another sucess substrates - like when you add calcarium.

He, LOL, I hope tryed better in this once

Yea tht is what i was trying to get at.

So are they winter wheat berries? Have you tried laying the grains out in a tray or tub and doing a casing? Or spawning to a bulk substrate?

found this at some cooking website:

    Note about Cremogema:

Cremogema is a trademark of a flavored corn starch sold in Brasil. You can replace it by regular corn starch and a teaspoon of vanilla in the batter.

    nice pics psilo!
i think Cremogema helps to keep the health of the cakes for more time. im using as standart now for 2 times and the micellium seems to adapt itself to eat the " bubbles" of cremogema inside the substrate.
each new subsequent grow i got in cremogema is better than the previous.

The fluff sometimes happens with high humidity.

    Very normal. Not a problem.
