![]() | gorgeous!!! I have seen the exact same mushrooms growing in South Fork Florida. They appear to differ from their native florida counterparts from the Orangeish cap. However, the only way to tell the difference is by looking at the spores. I wish I knew for sure. South Fork is supposedly the only place in florida they grow, in the former pineapple fields. (now owned by a very prestigious real estate developer)

![]() | I can do a detailed microscopic examination of any specimens to confirm the species. Such as these: http://www.sporeworksgallery.com/mic...posites?page=2

![]() | I would like to point out that just because I was in South Fork doesn't mean I live anywhere near there. Unless you count 15 hours away near there. I just happened to be passing through on the way to a festi and stopped by, knowing full well the stories of Pan. Trops growing in the old pineapple fields. Its funny because I passed up a ton of regular copes, not knowing what they were. I only knew to look for the orange tops. Once again, nice pics.

![]() | Copelandia's (Bluing subtropical/tropical panaeolus) are pretty much imposssible to identify with certainty without microscopic examination. I would require at least a gill fragment or spores for growout. I've only examined 5 strains (dozens still in cold storage) in detail and so far they are all Panaeolus (Copelandia) cyanescens. But I recently examined a specimen from Jalisco, Mexico from cactu that has distinctly large spores (approximately 16 micrometers), significantly larger than the largest reported size of Panaeolus cyanescens (14 micrometers). The spores are also less lemon shaped and more eliptical. I'll do a new post on this strain/species after growout which should be soon since I plan to case a test tray this weekend.
