Procare.nl of the Nederlands is the 2nd largest mushroom farm in Holland.

While Fresh mushrooms of Tiel was producing as many as 20,000 Kilograms of fresh mushrooms per week (cubes, copes, subbs and sclerotia), they will soon close their business because of the pending law to make the growing and selling of fresh mushrooms illegal in Holland. At the moment the mushrooms are still legal, and the new law will not affect the legal picking of wild fresh Psilocybe species such as P. cyanescens, P. semilanceata and P. liniformis.

Procare, instead of growing massive tiers, grows small 15 pound plastic containers of Colombian cubes, and Slecrotia.

They do well with the sclerotia and mass-produce the largest amount from Psilocybe tampenensis.

Their total growth is between 400-500 Kilograms during off season. With summer coming, their output will double and probably triple in growth.

Currently they sell two terrific grow kits from their company which are available in 2/3rds of all of the smart shops throughout the Nederlands.

They can grow the mycelium and sell the kits when they are close to producing or you can produce them your self.

This will be the first of two pictorials on their kits.

This one is called the Instant Magic Mushroom Grow tube.

It comes packaged with instructions in six languages as will be seen below.

For the Pictorial i will post the English instructions with eight photographs of the process involved in growing these Colombian cubes in these small tubes which sell for 30 Euro-dollars. They also have Amazonian and other strains available at different times.

Procare is a great company - I was wondering what they (and others) will do once this law is put through? There are no real loopholes to work with -

Holland is changing a lot at the moment. I work in Hydroponics in the UK and we're hearing a lot of stories about the law changes in regard to this and the Cannabis trade at the moment. The law on smoking and selling in coffeshops is changing too - the laws on size of grow ops has been revised and revised and revised. Slowly killing of a massive and profitable (for the company and the dutch government) industry. Pressure from the EU maybe?

Seems like more to come - I wonder how a company the size of procare - who have a large operation (and I guess workforce) will remain viable> or will they just fold you think?

i like how they say that the mushrooms are "buds", those dutch and their buds hehe

i have been to holland several times but only visited a smart shop one time. in 96. i was walking around amsterdam and found a mushroom shaped flyer on the cobblestone street for 'the mushroom hut'. i abandoned my stoned friends and said i was off to find the place somehow. oddly it did not take me long (i dont remember how i found the place). the store had many different odds and ends of almost processed looking types of boxes and such of mind enhancers and all that stuff. i did not see any fresh mushrooms in the store and did not even ask. today if i was there i would have certainly asked about their mushroom products. they were selling magic mushroom spliffs, again, the Dutch gotta love um. at the register of the store they had a big bin of dried cubensis and it seemed like people were buying them left and right. it was a fun time. a very interesting city.

Well for some reason I can partially reply and see my photos in Windows Explorer but cannot see pictures or reply in Mozilla Firefox.

But I do not use explorer because of pop up boxes which appear when i do use it and It does not happen when I use Firefox.

Do you know what substrate they use? And how long they leave them to mature?

What do you think the best substrate is for tamp sclerotia, or sclerotia in general, if money was no issue.

Thanks for that. I must give it a go again with wheat or rye, I had no success in the past with them.

I planned on getting some and cloning the commercial strain, presuming it must be a carefully selected one.
