    Mail Order Green Fairy

you could still Legally order 2 bottles at a time to the US.Have it sent through the post office from companies in Canada.I dont know if absinthe is readily available in Brazil but...just bring some with you.As a matter of fact, I just remembered I saw an ad in Tattoo magazine in the classifieds.Good luck n a safe journey

You'll find plenty of Absinthe in Brazil.
It's also being (legally) distilled in the US again.

Thujone won't make you hallucinate or achieve a higher state of consciousness. Drinking absinthe will fuck you up because it is traditionally between 65%-80% alcohol by volume. Their are two beverages called absinthe; one is distilled, the other isn't. The web sites touting the highest thujone levels allowed, are not distilled and are usually crap. What most consider true absinthe is usually made by distilling each individual herb, sometimes 10-15 different plants. The 4 main herbs in absinthe seem to have a synergistic effect that allows the drinker to remain conscious and alert while consuming 150 proof liquor. This is great when you're drinking it, but not the next day. It was originally developed as a medicinal digestive aperitif. Absinthe is currently enjoying a revival and their are many excellent and authentic brands available, but they are expensive. France, Sweden, and Germany have traditionally produced the best. The best sites for info are feeverte.net and wormwoodsociety.org. They both have absinthe ratings and feeverte does it by country so you could find out what Brazil is up to. They also list the best companies to order from and do a good job of dismissing the many myths about absinthe. And no, I don't drink absinthe; anymore. Have fun in Brazil.

here it is the best absinthe in the world made the old timey way with wormwood and they ship to the us but it is costly like MR m said dont forget your absinthe spoon and sugar cube. There is a way to buy the wormwood from Europe and mix with some kind of liquior that is suppose to be just like the green fairy and is much cheaper. The european union has limited the amout of wormwood they can use in making absinthe. So to get the real thing you have to get it from the Czech Republice because they are not in the European Union. They might have this stuff in Brazil might be worth checking into. Hope this helps

This is what Ted Breaux [currently making what is considered some of the finest absinthe ever made] had to say about Camargo in 2006, "In conclusion, this absinthe seems vaguely similar to Tunel, but with even less anise and more Artemisia flavor. While definitely being better than Neto Costa, this absinthe is nothing like the typical Spanish fare. Overall, the flavor content is rather thin, but if you increased the Artemisia content, it certainly would not make it more palatable, requiring even more sugar to defer the apparent 'vegetable-like' texture. Although being made 'traditionally', this absinthe bears little in flavor to the absinthes of old, or to the absinthes of new at that. Is it worth the cost? As always, that depends on your tastes, but if you wondered what Artemisias taste like with very little anise, this product delivers just that." I don't think he liked it. That was from the feeverte site I suggested you check out. Ted makes Absinthe Edward and Jade PF 1901 which are as good as it gets. He also makes the Lucid now in the US which is OK. And yes, you need to slowly add ice water to absinthe to produce the louche which is a reaction of the herb oils with the water. This releases the full potential of the plants. The absinthe from Czech? I'm not even gonna go there. For a quick explanation and ratings, go to www.absinthe.se. You will spend at least $75-$100 to ship a good bottle to the US from EU. Absinthe Duplais is a good line and not as expensive as the Jades. I would stay home and order on-line for Absinthe. In Brazil, seek the jungle spirits.

Just laughing at the guy who said 'seek the jungle spirits'. I'd tell him 'seek geography books', less than 30% of Brazil is jungle(what a pity, the next ass president of US will try to steal it) and such spirits are now somehow unseen.

About Absinthe: Yes, here in Brazil you can find many brands of it, maybe few of them are expensive, i mean, good as our friend cactuswren stated in here. But I can say that only girls don't like drinking it, and of course, foreigners used to eat sterile mushrooms (when they dare showing up, lately they've been really scared). If SWIY is really in Brazil, pm me and I'd be pleased to help this person finding the real wild mushrooms, absinthe, good beer, fun and most importantly INFORMATION.

That clever boy really changed my mood today
