Cubes and Snorkeling on Koh Tan and Sandy Beaches

    Part One

From the southwest region of Samui, you can take a local long tail fishingboat from the Thong Tanot pier out to Koh Tan Island, a few hundred metres ( about2 km) off the southwestern coast of Koh Samui from Taling Nam fishing village. Koh Tan is a primitive tranquil small, largely unspoiled island, known for its coral and marine life. Giant clams, fan corals and a wide variety of fish species live in and around the protected reefs.island and spans an area is 7.5 square kilometers. This island is exactly 2 km from Koh Samui. On the island lies a small pristine village and there is neither car nor road. The island is surrounded by coral reefs with serene white sandy beaches. Here is a great place to snorkel for coral photography and one can buy a Kodak instant underwater camera to take photographs with. I found a few cubes on this island from buffalo on the island.

The boat to Koh Fan. While I was cheap and like to boat in the Gulf, I took a slow boat rather than the speed boats to the island.

Here you can see how we are approaching the island of Koh Tan.

A buffalo cart near the bungalows and beach

    The bungalows where we stayed

Collecting Coconuts to ship to Samui and then on to Bangkok.

A phot of a flower taken at my bungalow facing another bungalow.

He we walk along the wooden platform that was built by the locals to view the mangrove forests and jungle habitat of Koh Tan.

Five images of fresh in situ beauties of Psilocybe cubensis and or P. subcubensis.

And a small last minute find near my bungalow from some buffalo shit.

In about 15 minutes or so, I will come back and post in a Part 2 of this thread the following iamges of beaches and fishies and coral.

See part two for some beautiful panoramic beach shots and my snorkeling adventure under water.

The Beaches, The Boat, the Coral and the Fish

Pat two of Koh Tan Island adventure.

Here are some of the Beach photos I was able to capture while on this Island for seeral days.

In this next image you can see Koh Samui in the backgroound 2 km away.

A picture of the beach and the long boat we came on.

    Another Beach shot.

    And a white sandy beach.

And now the fish and coral int he beautiful turtle green o water of the gulf of Thailand.

I had bought only one camera as I did not know what to expect here on this island and took 12 photographs and only 7 of them came out okay.

    So here goes.

MJ, very nice photos. I love wild cubes, I've seen some MONSTERS on the Texas coast. Everything is bigger here...trust me.
