Does anyone have any idea where one could get hold of a large presure cooker in Europe? I dont do ebay so thats out of the question. Ordering from the US is extremly expencive, especially the taxation and the shiping... Any help would be greatly apretiated.

Also, in America, many cities have local advertisement magazines like swap meet sales items and you can find those paper mags called Nickle Ads in most U.S. cities. They have almost everything anyone could want to buy for sale. One way to beat the customs tax is to have it sent as a gift and not as sometning you purchased. mjshroomer | |

In my business we ship a lot to Europe and the UK. We exclusively use the post office. A lot cheaper. and reliable too. I would get a friend in the US or find a US supplier that will mail it to you. It might be helpful to get set up and verified paypal too.

I think it depends on what you mean by "large".. If you mean the All American size ranges of 15 liters and more then I think it is probably true that it will be easier and cheaper to get it from the U.S. in the end. But for something like 10 liters I think you can get them in most countries. Many Asian/Middle Eastern shops have them, as immigrants from some of these countries like pressure cookers much more than most Europeans. The items stocked here are usually quite cheap too. Or, even if you don't like buying ON ebay you can search the .uk and .de or .fr ebays and find the homepages of some of the suppliers, and probably buy directly from them. Or check homepages of Tefal, Fagor, etc, for distributors in your country. But yearh, if a friendly soul would help you buy one from the U.S., it's probably a good offer, and maybe make it look a bit used, and have it smell of crappy fish, and write a note inside "thanks for borrowing me your pc, here you have it back - so long and thanks for all the fish". Send warranty papers etc in another letter. Then of course you would have to go to the tax office and declare your import on your own initiative, since any customs officer would hurry up packing it back together if he was unlucky enough to open it. ![]() Best wishes! |

Thanks for the input everyone. I dont have the cash to buy one now but i will keep searching untill i do. The voltage difference doesnt really matter, if i get a pc it will be the type that can be put on a stove or over a propane burner. Ill keep you guys informed if i find anything usefull. Peace |
