Just two images for now, I will later post the complete 5th, 6th and 7th flush of this cool strain. Not as many shrooms grew on this fifth attempt at this species but the quality was quite rewarding: ![]() ![]() mjshroomer |

Nice, mj. Your substrate, if I recall correctly, is kowanite (sp?)? Is that correct? What exactly is that stuff? Were all the fruits that light of a color or did that begin with later flushes?

The cake was put into a cardboard box with the top closed and sprayed daily with water. So it lacked sunlight or lamplight which caused the whitish cap. The gills were a light chocolate brown, but this particular mushroom and one adjoine to it produced no spores, The bluing is where I cut the other shroom away. Thisi particvular batch was not made with Kowanite, hence the small quantity of shrooms it produced, but 2 dried grams were a rewardig experience. WE used: rye berry seed with pasteurized wheat straw and horse manure compost. mjshroomer

Wait until you see the complete 6th and especially the 7th flush. Nice thick shroomies. I took over 70 photos of the 7th flush. some came out so beautiful. But it will be several days. I have burned my eyes to the max on the computer working on updating my bibliography which is now at over 2800 references, 2100 annotations, 10,000 cross-references and more than 1,300 photos which all open to 7 1/2 inches in height. later, and all have a shroomy weekend. I know the large whitish lack of light cube is beautiful. I photographed it over and over from all different angles. Each one has its own personality from the others. Here for a treat is one from the 7th flush day 82. ![]() mjshroomer
