  |  My first time here
I´ll do some type of cakes to see who work´s better. Follow my script: (linhaça is like oats) BRF = brown rice flour RRF = red rice flour Rice type 1: (1 cup) BRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+nínger (WBS) (2 cups) BRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+linhaça (3 cups) BRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+nínger+linhaça (3 cups) BRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+hpoo Rice type 2: (2 cups) RRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+nínger (WBS) (1 cup) RRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+linhaça (2 cups) RRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+nínger+linhaça (2 cups) RRF+vermiculite+dust of shells+hpoo "Pancakes" (2 cups) Peat moss+vermiculite, with heart as BRF+vermiculite+lime (2 cups) Peat moss+vermiculite, with heart as popcorn+lime (2 cups) HPoo+vermiculite, with heart as popcorn+lime I think I´ll do a monotub, but I´m affraid about contamination, but...i´ll try ^^ Follow some photos of the process... My Z-Strain Syringes (I did 7 with my nice print)  The improvised incubator (glovebox)  My favourite grains  The "pancake"  For to do my first monotube maybe i´ll need a little help to be sucessfull =] Before any thing, thanks a lot to everyone huhu |

The News... Day 07/27, 4 days after inoculation of cakes (type 1) I could see mycelium signals. They are very fast in terms of colonization. I have to say that what I read is purely true, the z-strain is fast and agressive  Day 07/29, 6 days after inoculation...follow the picture (just one because the jars are shy hehe):  I bought a new box, bigger than others wich I have. It have been used as incubator =]  And for finish, my agar experiences...(without any necessity of sucess, just to see if the little white shows her face)  Thanks for good vibrations  Last edited by Hippie3; 07-30-09 at 19:41. |

Following my improvisation sense, I did some changes... I did a "project" to elevate the incubation temperature without elevate the RH (high levels of RH can cause cobweb). Good luck! I'm new too, and I also tried a variety of projects to get started out. Some good, some fails, and a few contams, but all good learning experiences. I love the Z as well, all of my successes to this point have come with it! Good vibes heading your way!

My partial results as follows:  I need to say that all subs been passed through a sterilization, inocullation and incubation process in the same way, togheter I mean...for the comparision effect. And the pancakes, obviouslly, the panceke with the HPoo core was the winner  And for me, the Pancake with the rice+wbs in the middle was better than the popcorn heart. ^^ The white corn kick the ass of the yellow porpcorn  I´ll use the white corn from now on. |

Very nice chart, P4ulada. But one question, stupid probably.. but are the percentages the approximate colonization % at this time, or the number of successfully colonized versus contam'ed jars, or..? I wonder if I can get that "red rice" where I live. Hope you get some shrooms soon, and more charts too. :-)

heh, thanks P4ulada. But remember to report the statistical significance next time! Just kidding!  It would be great if all experimental growlogs had that kind of stats to look at. I'm looking forward to the final conclusion that also accounts for yields. :-)

A shy birthday...     (With close on the little green) Some jars at 100% of colonization   WOW guys, the Z-strain mycelium is so rizomorphic   And now...someone who gives my respect and appreciation. nice!! About the statistics, yearh you could use the F-test.. and you probably know much more about statistical analysis than I do. :-) But I think what matters most is just that you record these things in a quantitative manner, like you did with the histogram, so it's easy to see how the experiment went.. that's cool! If growing mushrooms wasn't against the law in most places we could have gathered all that kind of data in a huge database for extensive analysis...

here is my first invitro attempt  My cousin said today, via orkut: ow look up....you know that cake you ask me to fan? so...man, a lot of heads borns yesterday, so now it´s hard to pull up the glass...what you wanna I do? uhaeuh   My first in vitro hehe Let´s see on thursday ^^ I´ll post pics as soon as I can He said that are a lot of pins, I´m looking for a good cake pinnage this time, because I did this cake with some HPoo...and HPoo rocks uhuhu |

Uh thax Shanti He gaves me 9 shrooms and 6 little aborts, I think it´s good for a cake leaved to herself ^^ I´m happy because it´s my first in vitro hehe Nothing too big, but I´ve always happiness when I see pins hihi It´s always like the first time =P |
