FOAF had some dry cubs and bakers chocolate, made 1oz medallions with 2g each. haven't tried chocolates before, I understand the experience is different. Well, I'll give a report tomorrow. It's been 15 min now and I'm starting to feel something. Time for a hot tub |

One with 2g was too light, next time I'll have to eat 3 with the 2g each. After an hour or so I went to bed and right to sleep. was somthing amiss? Shrooms were ground to a fine powder and slowly added to the melted chocolate in the double boiler then the molds were filled. When cool they were wrapped sealed and stored in the freezer. Sound OK? |

You don't need to freeze the chocolates. Just put them in a ziplock in the fridge, wrapped in foil, of course. Sorry to gross you out, Siam, but I find that white chocolate really masks the taste. I thought the tea always came and went too fast for me. Truthfully, I love them fresh, but that's not a situation one can have at all times. Peace.

I made some chocolates using the same method as u Myco and had the same results -slow come up and weak effect...Even though the mush was subjected to less heat than making tea ...I dont have a good reason for the underwhelming trip ...I just dont make choco's 'ny more...

There wasn't too much heat involved...its been proven time and time again that while heat does destroy psilo that brief exposure doesn't seem to effect potency at a noticable level at all. Just like golly said, I've used way more heat making tea before and it was just fine.

Exactly. I followed a tek in the archives using a double-boiler, melting the chocolate till it pours out of the spoon. I grind the magic in a coffee grinder till it's almost powder (still a few li'l chunks). I remove the melted chocolate from the heat, quickly and agressively stir in the magic, spoon the results into ice cube trays, cover with foil, and let cool for an hour. I then wrap each candy individually in foil. I aim for about a 2 gram dose in each one. Every batch has come out very, very strong. Chocolate melts at a fairly low heat, so I do not think exposing the shroom mix to at most 100F really reduces the potency at all. And one of those fat guys in my avatar keeps cleaning out my supply--damn the sweet tooth!

you can also stick the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl (pyrex) and nuke the choc. (chop it down to chunks about the size of a normal marble) for 3 min. on high and take out and stir... a lot faster and less cumbersome than a double boiler. might want to test out some choc. on a lower time setting in the microwave first so you don't ruin your choc... you can always put it in for more time if it's under done. ![]() fahtster |

for long term storage one can take fresh (or dry) mushrooms and put them into honey (it will turn the honey blue) i think that there may be a tek on it or some one has some more info than i do i just put fresh ones in and every so often i will have to drain the water off the top then after the water stops its good for a long time storage just dont forget and put some "blue honey" on your toast and go off to work

That honey sounds pretty interesting... FOAF had some mushie peanut butter he would spread on his sandwiches everyday for a little buzz along the way.

well as you alpiner said it will go bad IF you add water to it and i do agree with golly too about the nasty microbes in water but i never said to add water only mushrooms i have never had any problems wether dry or not the "water " i speek of comes from within the mushroom i dont think that there could be that many contams in it if any at all

The mushroom itself is proly loaded with various bacteria and mold spores. If the honey is diluted with water from the mush for too long then it would seem that the antiseptic quality of the honey would be weakened... I Just think that fully dried mush would be safer to add.... |

id definately bring the heat down extreme temps kill the psyili 100 seems pretty safe.. seeing how as the grow temps are maxed out at 116? so that means no boiling and no freezer! The question is.. how do you make sure you have 2 grams of good stuff in there when your grinding it all up...... |

I meant the water within the mushrooms they are about 90% water you know I would have to be pretty dense to think that you were pouring water in there just as a test add 20% water by volume to honey and come back in two weeks when you come back it might be getting nasty, now try it with 40% and it will be bad in a week no doubt the shrooms are contamed unless grown invitro and you never touched them and they were never exposed to air the honey is contamed as well so as soon as the sugar content drops stuff will start growing you can say whatever you want and insist you have no problems but I am going to say that I have seen honey go bad and you really don't want to push your luck unless it's for imidiate use I would dry them myself no doubt the goods break down at 190F keep it below that and you're fine, choc scortches easily anyway so just go enough to melt it nicely |
