I just picked about 20 new canbo's this morning and I put a coffee filter in the bottom of a zip lock bowl and placed the shrooms on top. Next I put another filter on top and sealed the lid and placed them in the fridge. Is the ok and if so how long can they stay there...I can't eat them until Fri.

why do you want to eat fresh ones? I understand some people do, but most of them are best served dried. You could start them drying today and have them ready to dose with on friday. You will have to eat a good bit of fresh ones for a dose. Just something to think about.

Putting them in the fridge will be fine for a few days (7-10). Make sure and check out the search option, including the old archives search. You can usually find answers to general questions pretty quickly there. http://mycotopia.net/discus/messages...tml?1008439236

Hmmm...Well it isn't very diffucult to dry mushrooms. If them were my mushrooms I would not put them in th fridge. They will only keep for a couple of days if the are covered then they will get gross and slimmy. Fresh ones are more potent than dried ones though. What I would do is get a fan a place the mushies on a screen or what have you and leave the fan running directly on them. Make sure they get as much airflow as possible. It will take about 3 days for them to be cracker dry (and this is the desired dryness). Also you can speed the drying up by slicing the stems with a razor vertically along the stem, but to me I dont mind the wait.
