LC jar

well i have one jar with honeywater and a pice of tissue

its in a dark place at 85-86 F,i wanna ask how many days takew for

micelium to grow?and how can i suck the water in order to take the best result.

what lid set-up did you use?
once i noc the LC jars i let it sit for 2 days then i stir it several times a day then it should show growth n the 3rd or 4th day

i use a common jar,which PC first, has 3 holes with tapes

stored in dark place,but i have some probs keeping the temp warm

i stir 2 times,and i see a little grow ...like hair

but i suck all the water or what and how?

the temps are ok
i keep mine at 80F and no problem
it does not have to be 85-86

for sucking it out, use a syringe
but let the growth thicken up first
stir and let it grow some more
then stir it a little before you insert a syringe in one of the holes
then tilt the jar sideways a little just to let the needle be able to suck up the LC and then thats it

i hope your lid set up wont spill if you tilt it and suck and stuff, what kind of holes? just tape? no tyvek no polyfill no airport?

check out the airport tek in the archives/vaults
if your lid is like that then you would have no problems about contams getting in, stalled growth, or spilling, etc

In the fututre, if you are only using tape to seal the holes of your LC (no airport/filter, no injection port) - there is no reason to have more than one leaky, adhesive smeared hole.

If you are just using tape, use ONE hole and place it near to the rim of the lid, so that it will not be hard getting every last cc out of the jar.

Hi pan, you don't need to keep LC in a dark place, and did you put anything inside the jar like a marble or broken glass to help stirring and breaking the mycelium once it gets thick?
if you didn't it will be difficult to suck unless you have a thick needle.
as for the amount you can inoculate with 1-2 cc for a small BRF or 5-10 cc for a grain jar/bag. you don't want to make your substrate too wet.

even ,i dont have some broken glas to stir it?

i think honey water now contains mycelium!!any point to suck all the water into syrignes?

you mean you see mycelium other than the piece of tissue? if so and if it is nice and fluffy like here http://forums.mycotopia.net/attachme...7&d=1159875003
then you can suck it into 10 cc syringes, but you have to use it soon or store in the fridge.
otherwise you can store your LC in the fridge until you are ready to use.
a picture would help to check how far mycelium has grown.

well my thought ,why mixed water- mycelium

is not precious,i mean all the mix onto syringes every drop
