my first try as well - cakes look ok?

Just wanted some feedback on my pictures. These cakes have been in the terrarium about a week. The four jars in front I am trying invitro. Everything look ok with cakes?

TDE, A casing is placed ontop of your terrarium cakes. There is no need to worry about the mushrooms coming up, because if they can't they will just grow out the sides. And yes you definatly should do a second, 3rd, and maybe even 4rth or 5th flush. Get the most out of those babies as possible man.

should you have dunked?
well, some people do and some do not. I started dunking after birthing and
noticed an increase in my yields for the flush. Coincidence; maybe. But now I always do it.
There is no right or wrong, just what works best for you, I would suggest you try dunking one or two next time to see if you like like the results .
would I suggest trying to do a 2nd flush?

try to get as many as you can.
after each harvest just dunk in the fridge overnight and return to your FC. I'm sure you'll dig the results.

I like to put about a cap full or two of H202 in the water for the dunk to fight of any nasties.

Dunking religiously after birthing and after each flush does increase flushes IMO. I wouldn't add anything to the water unless contams are looking like a possibility and that doesn't usually become a problem(if at all) until after the 3rd flush or so if your environment is pretty free of contams...if needed though, a bleach solution mixed at approx 1:200 will do the trick. Never used H2o2. I guess either would work though.

The fuzz is myc. It's good. It just means that your humidity is high.

Cakes look great, nice job! Dunking just basically replentishes water used during colonization. It will increase fruit size and yield IMO. Keep up the good work!

a FOAF said I need at least a gram to do me good

on fanaticus site it says to harvest them young, and that youngin's have the most potency. how young they talking about?

that will be plenty for those pins
to mature
then you will have more than
a gram to play with
if you harvest now you will have
to have many of those little
ones to make a dose,IMO

when he says that the young
ones are more potent he's saying
by weight they contain more magic


if you let them mature
they will continue to produce
more

I believe that some say just before
the veil breaks is the time that the
magic is thought to stop producing
but that is theory I think

Note that people generally discuss dosage in dry weight. Fresh shrooms are 90% water, so that would mean 10 grams nominal for an introduction. There are plenty of drying teks to be found by searching, but that would add a day or more to your prep time.

i was told to steep boiling water and eat the bits in some hot "shroom" tea for a greater trip. this foaf also told me about maoi and how that can add to your trip greatly. is maoi hard to find? i didn't really understand what form maoi came in and if it was a legal substance to order online. extracts? powders?
