    amanita muscaria variations

so i recently purchased an ounce of amanita muscaria from BBB. BBB just labels them as amanita muscaria, and doesnt list the variation. should i assume that they are var. muscaria, or do they sell the other variants?

what about the whitish-yellow ones, or the yellowish-brown colored?
could a reddish-orange be an muscaria or vice versa?
    are there green ones?

the light yellow to yellow ones are - guessowii
liver brown with yellowish warts - regalis
Silvery white with white warts - alba
pinkish to orangish "melom colored" - persicina
red with yellow to yellowish-whitish warts - flavivolvata

all of these are variants of amanita muscaria
    and contain ibotanic acid.

careful not confuse them with the deadily (amanita pantherina)
bronze or pale orange-brown cap with small white warts.

Amanita austroviridis is an agaric from Southwest Australlia with green gills and a pale green cap.
Amanita phalloides (Death Cap) can be olive-green.be careful!
There is no room for error when considering amanitas to eat.

    Talking Amanita

Be very careful, figuring out what you have without a picture is like beating a dead horse and expecting it to get back up....whatever that means...could you post a pic?

They arent a member here anymore.
Amanita pantherina are not deadly, they are about twice as potent as muscaria.

Heres a nice little gallery of Amanita shots (diff. var's) Pretty decent shots of the "key players" and some relatives.
