Has anyone cloned a verticillium infected fruit?

If so, what happened?

Could you get it to colonize the substrate and fruit?

Did the fruits show signs of vert. right away?

Anyone?

Hi Rev.

If it is found that the Albino strain has a verticillium type infection, then I can answer yes to your question. I even got it to fruit on agar. Those pics are in the vaults somewhere.

As for cloning a vert infected shroom on purpose, I haven't done that. Now my PE's I did were infected with vert I think, though wasn't sure at the time. I did clone them and grow them also, sorry no pics of the clones fruiting.

One thing I'd like to mention to you also, before I'd do any cloning from tissue, I'd always drop in peroxide, then into the sterile lc, or onto the agar. Maybe this helped, I don't know as I didn't really look at it in a scientific manner

Thanks

foaf said they came off a really small straw nugget so if cloning goes well, it will be grown out on large strawlog. Then, look out!

I'm so glad to be back too Rev.

Those PE are beautiful!!! I love how dense the fruitbodies are.

I wonder if someone knows the affect peroxide has on Verticillium? Does it kill it? Stun it? Interesting to know for sure. I don't think it kills it. I think any verticillium problems I had came from either poor pasteurization of the bulk substrate (me being lazy and such), and/or poor past. of the casing, added in with not being truly clean and careful during spawning and casing.

I'm just glad this contamination still allows for consumption. It makes for some ugly fruitbodies though.
