First Timer Inoculation (Scared)

FOAF did his first inoculation about a half hour ago. Scared as hell. Sweating it like theres no tomorrow. Pre-sterilized BRF jars from the internet with scotch tape over the Inoc holes. Worked in supersanitized small bathroom.

1. Accidentally got a shot of bleach based cleaner in the box my FOAF plans on keeping these puppies in for the next 3-4 weeks. Small squirt. Enough to make a difference in the air exchange quality?

2. Didnt exactly point the needle straight to the side of the jar each time. As a result some substrate got inside the needle and caused one jar to get a BIG dose (3 cc).

3. Didnt alcohol wipe needle in between jars.

4. Failed to alcohol wipe on the top of 1 jar.

All jars are labled and FOAF is keeping log of activity, but with everything I hear on this board makes it seem like a retarted blind kid taking a test in quantum physics has a better chance than my FOAF does of a contam free inoc. As always, any input would be helpful and appreciated.

Hopefully the one you forgot is the last one. Then again, no need to panic. It won't change anything. What is done is done. You might just come out ok, might not..either way you'll know soon enuf.

Sounds like you did it right...when I inoculated my jars, I bleach bombed room, showered, wiped all surfaces with alcohol...then I wipe the needle with a dry cotton ball, lost 2 jars to bacteria, 1 to trich, 7 going good though.

some people add a bit of bleach to the water in the pearlite on the bottom of the fc. If it's a real shot (like shot glass amount) you might want to rinse it out but if it's just a "shot" I wouldn't worry.

not a problem except lager amounts os spores may take it a bit longer to colonize (diffrent genomes fighting to take over)

My "FOAF" only wipes the needle if he touches something dirty

They were pc-d and should be clean no? I have never wiped the tops of the jars & I inoculate in my dirty room, with very little contamination if any (it is a new home though). The only time I had any serious contams was when I did it in the fresh cleaned bleachbombed bathroom, then I got tric, black mold, lipstick mold, and bacteria. Needless to say I do not use the bathroom for it anymore.

No problems, you should be fine now comes the hard part...

Nonsense! Your FOAF will probably get lucky this time, think s/he knows something and then go totally to hell until s/he reads and re-reads the posts here and implements what they say.
