Open air bag innoculation W/0 Inj. Port

Is it feasable (or should I say wise) to innoculate large grain bags in open air? I have a glove box but these bags are frigging huge and it can only hold 1 at a time so it is very time consuming. If I get it all ready to tape, shoot, begin taping and remove needle at the same time with a table top ionizer as well could one get away with this method? Or should I just make some ports?

The way i do em' is to use a magic marker to make a dot in the spot that u want to shoot [the solvent in the pen sanitizes the plastic]..

Use alcohol, not heat to clean the needle and shoot thru the dot...
I put a dab of glue on the hole [goop] and let dry for a few hours b4 massaging the bag to mix..Can be done in open air but best to wear gloves.

The Ionizer should help in still air...Gluk...

That is a great idea, my problem was the tape was not sticking after swabing with alchahol so I had to use giant pieces of tape. Metal tape that costs 23 buck a roll. (It is awsome and can handle any thing your PC can throw at it). Anyway, it doesn't look so pretty, your idea is much more aesthetically pleasing I imagine. I save 1 bag to try something else. Gonna use your tip, my fiend. Thanks again!

If you can't do it in a glovebox, do it in a small room like a bathroom with absolutely no air movement at all. (turn of your AC or heat)

Spray a good amount of Oust in the air before innoculation.

I never would inoculate anything without a still room that had been fully Ousted, a glovebox, Lysol or Alcohol, gloves, tyvek sleeves, and a face mask.

Open air seems to be begging for problems.

What's this about an Ionizer? I have one. Are they effective in knocking out contams when inoculating? How do you use it?

Why don't you just dab some silicone caulking on the bag and that will be a self healing port.?

I wear surgical mask, shower cap, use oust (the unscented rules), and of course all the other things (accept tyvek sleeves, I disinfect to the elbows and constanly re do my gloves and arms). I also have a truehepa filter (honeywell brand for a bigger room than mine.) I let the filter run, outs, let it run. Then turn it off and use the aspen air. Just when you inject 60-120 cc the needle is in there for awhile (sometimes twice) so I was thinking maybe making Inj. ports is worth while. My glovebox is too small.

After PCing? Won't the point of inj and the silicone harbor contams?

That is the only reason I did not make one after I PC'd them.
