Calling all Spawn Bag users

i want to make a spawn bag out of oven bags. i plan to pull the spawn bag through a cut piece of pvc pipe and pull it down then seal a tyvek filter with either zip ties and or a hot glue gun over the neck i just made then either use hot glue or RTV seal to make self sealing injection ports around the outside of the bag. i have heard of people using dish rags or a pot inside the PC to keep the bag from touching the sides and getting brittle Will a pillow case do the job or mabe two layered over the bag to protect it from the inside of the PC ? also the bags are big bigger than my pc how big is a reasonable spawn bag and how long should i pc it for so i make shure i sterilize the middle ?

What mil bags are used? 2 mil?? 3 mil??

I love this community. I buy my spawn bags a Thousand at a time at commercial prices, Better than Fungi Perfecti prices.Try Unicorn IMP. They are out of Texas. Be patient as they are chinese and difficult to communicate with as their English is rough to understand. They do have a web site. My intent isn't to spam here, they are perfect space bags. Also I use the impulse sealer. Peace

for me the best injection site has been a peice of electrical tape that goes on before it goes into the cooker and I fold over and stick a little bit of it to it's self so it's easy to pull back. then you put it back in place place over the needle hole

Have you guys ever used the microwave steam bags yet?
Very easy to use with almost any substrate.Soak and drain
like usualle stuff the bags and seal.Then nuke for five minuits.
Tape ports wile hot and top.Once cool clean a spot and add a
small peice of duct tape clean tape with alchol and knock up
through tape.Then put a bandaid over the hole.he he he
Red Neck Tec works like a charm.Pretty cool.Easy as can be.
Once fully colonized you can shoot water in it and draw out
mycelium just like you do with pop corn 1/2 pint jars.
No PC needed at all.I made a bag of oyster dowls this way.
Even used finch seed hulls nothing has failed yet.
Was going to try pop corn but thought it may pop.
Hell I bet the brown rice and vermiculite would work
great also.Have not herd of this yet have you?
