![]() | Exotics - Copelandia, Hispanica, Pelliculosa So i am excited, i finally have the resources to start a new beginning. I like cubes and all but i think i need to diversify. So some quick research turns out that for the money:time ratio seems like Pan Cyans are the best bet. However Pan strains require similar conditions as cubes. Being winter i found that i dont want to have a heat source. two less known species, Psiloybe Hispanica and Psilocybe Pelliculosa are cheap but there is hardly much info on them. does anyone know the requirements for incubation and fruiting of these? are they temperate or tropical dung growers? do they tolerate wood and straw? or since not much is available should i just buy one of each and just grow them all and see? Of these Pan Cyan strains, which are the easier ones? which are the potent ones? Aussies, Jamaicans, Goliaths, Viets, or Suphanburi. has anyone looked into breeding any of these pans with each other from isolate?

![]() | P. pelliculosa is one of the weakest pslocybian mushrooms to grow and harvest. Intheir un-natural setting (Clear Cuts in the PNW) where alder regrows is their common habitat. They fruit abundantly int he late fal (Mid October to mid December) by the hundreds of thousands in clear cuts and where the alders grow from three to ten feet in height. They grow in veins, along with sNamatolomas, Aleuria arantia, Galerina autumnalis and other species not psychoactive. In many P. pelliculosa patches one may find numerous small colonies of Psilocybe silvatica, a related species which macroscopically resembles P. pelliculosa. While they grow abundantly where the Earth has been cleared, you step ten feet into the woods surrounding the clear cuts and the shrooms disappear completely. So please try the Viet Copes or the Pan Goliaths. I o was the one who brought those strains to America and the west. Some P. pellicuolsa mushrooms (8 to twelve doses in a fresh pound). mjshroomer |

![]() | if you're not heart-set on cyans, pan tropicalis is imo the easiest panaeolus to grow, with potency just as good. that being said, i don't have any experience with the viets, although i did plate some up last night. (thanks mooddocs )

![]() ![]() ![]() | Ps. Hispanica is easy to colonize at room temp but i had trouble fruiting them..Temps should be around 60F or less to pin.. My tray was primarily hay with a little horse poo and potting soil/mulch for a casing.. About 2-3 weeks post casing , the tray looked like primordia were forming but did not develop fully..I only got a couple of small fruit .. After 5 weeks the sub got triched out... Workman had success using primarily composted manure i think.. |

![]() | I'd also suggest the Panaeolus (Copelandia) tropicalis as the easiest pan, maybe try the hispanica but don't bother with the pelliculosa. I like Psilocybe atlantis.
