Question lots of condensation in re-colonizing tub

I did a rez effect tek like the one in this mockeylock thread-
    http://forums.mycotopia.net/mushroom...us-pinset.html

I mixed the moist verm with lots of colonized wbs and then placed it in a tub with holes where it will colonize and fruit from. I'm noticing alot of condensation in the tub, the tub is clear and i can see lots of condensation under and around the mixed wbs/verm mix and around the sides of the tub, will this be ok? it's only been one day since i started to re-colonize the wbs/verm mix. the tub is in a bigger storage tub which is above a seedling heating mat. the wbs/verm mix is on a small plastic grate so its not touching the bottom of the big tub where the heating mat is under. It's also loosly covered with a piece of foil which i poked holes in so it can breath from the top. so is this an issue i got on my hands here?

kinda hard to tell exactly what you are talk'n about without pictures.

sounds like some condensation would be normal. you got moist substrate in a closed environment. if your project is sitting in a puddle, though, you got problems friend.

    how bout a pic?

well, i reread your post and tried to make the pic in my mind. always dangerous!

anyway, if you have a tray of substrate that is not sopping wet and it is contained within a tub, then condensation on the tub would be normal.

however, humidity and light are fruiting conditions. ive done something similar to the tek you describe. i let the myc recolonize in an incubator type environment before moving it to a FC. that is not to say yours will not colonize and then fruit just fine. i suspect it might.

    good ruck...

Perfectly normal to get a ton of condensation in a tub that's heated from below..
As long as u can avoid excessive dripping and pooling around the sub - it should be fine..

Monitor the temp at the base of the substrate to insure it's not too warm..All you need is 75F..Over 80 would be too warm imo and just makes more condensation..
