Bound & Determined To PC Wheat , Again

Hello

I've been having troubles using wheat berries for some time now. The berries I have been using are standard hard winter wheat kernels. I've tried seeds from different sources but they all end up the same... stalled.

I have tried 24 hour soaks, 15 hour soaks with 20 minute simmer, 18 hour soak no simmer and always they do very well until midway through colonization. Then they seem to stall.

The only thing I can think of is I have'nt tried longer than 60 minutes for PC time. Maybe doing 90 minutes would help?

Can anyone with experience with wheat give me some advice. This will probably be my 5 th time trying wheat and I really hope it works.

Thanks In Advance

H

Are you getting sighns of bacteria in the jars..?
That would splain the stall if moisture is optimum..
I usually go 75mins with wheat and other whole grains..

I found wheat to colo as easily as rye although fruiting may have been slightly less productive..
Think it's a great material if you can get it cheap..I used winter wheat because i made my own bread ..yum...
