    FOAF just started PF jars

My FOAF is excited. He just started 2 dozen jars. One dozen were from Hippies site for his 1/2 pint jars supercake blend, and the other dozen he PC himself with just plain BRF and vermiculite-no additives. He 6 of his own jars and 6 of Hippies jars with PF classic, and 6/6 again of Koh Samui Super. He plans to do some flat cake method, and make a version of the dub tub single. assuming these jars get going that is. Hippies jars look much coarser ingredients. Also, the jars my FOAF did, the ones that were on the bottom on the PC seem ever so slightly damper inside. At least they look, but it is hardly noticable. We will see what happens. If one PF cake recipe is better than the other possibly.

As of yet, my friend Theo has never gotten good results w/PCing...

The grains experimented with = Rye, Popcorn, & Brown Rice *all organic* & all ended up being too wet or too dry...

Well, Theo was very scared to just boil the jars to sterilize rather than PC but Theo is a wise one because in boiling, the moisture content has never once become too dry & not once has a jar become contaminated...

However, Theo has discovered cooked brown rice....Cook the rice just as if you were going to eat it, maybe a tad less h20 than called for, and Woila, terrific moisture content, plus breakfast, lunch, or dinner if you have some left over...Theo likes to eat it 'cause "it's nice to share the same food with the soon to be boomers" & it's yum w/frijoles =)

Theo also likes to impregnate this moist but not soaked rice w/a chilled LC full of live "jelly fish" looking love created from an Xtra Light DME (dry malt extract)...Colonization Rate = VERY FAST!

Good luck & Have fun =)

    indeed.
more air pockets, lighter, fluffier mix = faster colonization.
    in theory.
of course the spores are a HUGE variable.
