![]() | DEC question... Hello, I'm sorry if this question has already been answered .... I see everyone recommending DEC for cakes. What are the benefits of this, against rolling cake in vermiculite (what I 've done till now)? Would this not be a more "uniform" casing layer for the inner substrate that is the cake ? |

![]() | rolling only gives a thin coating at best, insufficient water holding capacity

![]() | Thank you hippie3. I'll DEC now. I even think it's better for me, coz I got a very very fine verm, and the layer is very thin, when rolling. quicly overtaken by mycelium... As you are around here, please allow me to ask your great knowledge... I have some flax seeds and bee pollen, that I plan to add as a nutritive addition to some BRF cakes. Should I grind them to powder, or leave them ?what about the ratio ? Also are these materials good nutritive add for a bulk substrate made of Coir/castings ? Ratio also ? Many thanks by advance ... ![]() |
