too much light?

as the days are getting longer my closet is getting as many hours of light as the sun is up.
is this a problem or should i put on a door or block it off somehow?
i've read 12 on and 12 off is good but wondering when too much is too much?

Mushrooms don't care, 24 hour/day is good, 5 min/day is good (more then 5 is better, but 24 is just fine)

i usually try to stay near a 12/12 but i never adhere strictly, but they always have ample light periods......
