![]() | Fruiting Light & Mycelium Nutrients Question ?
When Innitiating Pinning , What is the best light cycle to put on for fruiting ? Also , If the ratio of Brown Rice Flour In a PF Mix is off by a small amount , will it affect the growth of the maturing mushrooms when fruited ? The Mycillium is growing great and looks good. If the mycillium growth is good , Does the amount of nutrients In the PF mixture Determine The Size the mushrooms will grow ? Or , is the size Of The Mushroom determined by the health Of Mycillium & the Amount Of Moustiure The mycillium Has Access to During Fruiting ?

answers to both questions- 1. light is not important in mycofarming any intensity from a flashlight to a HID will wok and the fact that mush is not photosynthetic (dont get energy from light) rather they are phototropic (they respond to and and grow toward the direction of the light) means you just need to give them light once a day, and preferably from the top, but no biggie if not. 30 seconds of light, in any phase of grwth, per day, is fine. u can have lights on 24/7 if u want too. doesnt matter. ![]() 2. the size of the mushroom has nothng t do with the amount of brf in your cake. it has to do with gntics, and which substrain has taken dominance over the jar. in other words, until you start isolating/cloning specimens/substrains, you will have mushrooms in varying sizes that are beyond your control. the only thing that will offer you large shrooms no matter the substrain, is having a deeeeeep substrate. like a strawlog or basket has a half-foot deep substrate, or more. this will give you larger specimens. cakes are gonna give u cake-sized shrooms basically. read upon bulk substrate/spawning teks when you reach that point in your expertice, you will start seeing larger specimens ![]() when youve 'mastered' pf tek, you will eventually start eyeballing your dry mix ingredients and im positive that being off by a tiny bit on any of the ingredients doesnt matter as long as the moisture level/consistancy/field capacity is right, your babies should thrive. its early, and hard to word things properly hope this helps! be good and welcome to topia!
