Looks good, man. I should buy a periodic table to hang up like that, it's pretty cool.

yesterday 2/24, 2 days after innoculation, i noticed my first signs of growth in 2 jars. Today 2/25, 3 days after, i notice steady growth in those 2 jars plus growth in 5 more jars. 5 other jars have so sign of growth yet.
I forgot to mention this before but I used approx. 2cc per jar, .5cc per hole, using a total of 2 homeade syringes for 12 jars.
I've found when using that much innoculate it trickles down all the way down to the bottom, so when you notice growth for the first time its already a line of mycelium all the way down to the bottom which makes it colonize a hell of alot faster, since we all know the bottom always takes the longest to colonize.
pics below of an example and my jar that showed the first signs of growth yesterday. the pic however was taken today...

this is m.m.'s pictures i couldn't find the camera to give you good idea of how to make the lids give me one sec and ill put them in order so next time you get the idea of how to make em.

    1. make holes

    2. add silicone rtv or clear window silicone 2

    3. set lid on top of empty jar nothing in it.

    4. place tyvek square on top of wet silicone lid "jar is still empty"

    5. place band on top and let silicone cure 24hrs "i would add another dab of silicone on top of the tyvek in the same spot so you have self healing ports on both sides of the tyvek."

yea i'll prolly use that method if i use something other than cakes.
i figured that would be excessive just for cakes.
but thanks for telling me it goes in between the lid and screw on cap, i wasnt aware of that.

    edit: stupid question

i wouldnt mind doing that later on, but right now im looking for a new job and have been dead broke for almost 2 weeks and already currently have everything i need to grow...

so maybe once i get myself on my feet i wouldnt mind the extra precaution
but right now i dont wanna worry about it as i have no contam problems anyways

the only time i had a contam was on my first grow (2 of em)
4 grows later not a single one

and to insure growth in those other 5 i reinnoculated...

    i would not -
the holes with verm give better air flow
    and verm promotes pinning,
    tyvek does not.

    2 jars are 100% colonized in 7 1/2 days...
the other 4 showing heavy growth should be done by tomorrow morning, or even sometime today...
of the other 6, 1 jar is 50% done, 2 others are showing half dollar size growth in only 1 innoc point...
the other 3 from those 6 have nothing...

Neat. If you're fruiting invitro, you dump the vermiculite barrier after full colonization, right?
