Thumbs down How sterile do u have to be whilst making spore prints

Swim grows on cased popcorn (verm and coir) and had gone thru many flushes for many months with not 1 single contam - how sterile does swim need to be while making prints - atm caps are cut and put on tin foil in a plastic container on a piece of tissue tosuck up any moisture in the air while the spores drop - no contams from home made prints yet either - for making the prints no extra sterile steps are taken - could i go so wrong soon or is this fine ?

It is preferable to do prints in a glovebox, or in something that will keep air movement from possibly depositing spores of the bad kind onto your printing medium.

Ideally you wanna be very sterile while making sporeprints. Your way involves risk of contamination. In the long run you may get a jar or two contaminated, but its really no big deal, unless you live in a molded house.

first, i did prints under a jar or glass. sterile with a dish towel to let in some air. it works the same with a bigger container and a larger piece of tinfoil. being as sterile as you can be.
