![]() | Sharing my homemade equipment for shrooming The first thing we had to rig up was an incubator. Because our house was too cold. This is a stealthy piece we have by the front door beside our beautiful orange couch. It has a hemostat taken from a broken space heater attached to a 60 watt (I think) incandescent bulb. We keep an eye on the temp with an outdoor/indoor digital thermometer. (first 2 pics) The second incubator, which adorns our living room, was a freebie our neighbor gave us. All we did with this cabinet was put a water bed heater in the bottom. It seems to be staying at a good temp.(4 middle pics) Lastly, is the all important glove box. It has served us well and continues until we break it some how. Yes, the gloves are bolted to the box and it is siliconed and the top "window" is taped on with clear box tape. We know it is sealed since when we inoculated in it we didn't smell any bleach until we opened it when we were done.

![]() | Glove box Ok here's the specifics on how we ended up putting this thing together. Materials used: 66 qt sterlite container from wal-mart a pair of rubber gloves partial board cut into rings silicone rectangular piece of plastic packaging tape How it was assembled: What we did is cut (dremal tool) two holes in the side for the gloves and a rectangular hole for the window since the bottom(or for it new use top) part isn't perfectly clear to see through. The gloves were hard to attach and seal to the container so we ended up using those ring. It is very very very hard to bolt down rubber. It wants to twist up. But anyway it goes container, stretched glove, ring, and then silicone. Holes were pre-drilled in the container and the rings then the bolts and nuts were placed with washers on both sides of the glove box. Then a layer of silicone was applied to the outside to make sure it was all sealed. The top is just a piece of clear plastic we found laying around and was taped to the top with clear packing tape on both sides of the container. I hope this clears up the confusion of what is going on with the glove box. It took a few days to assemble and we had went though many other ideas before we came up with this. But it has proven to be a worthy glove box. The only problem with it is that it is hard to reach stuff on the opposite side of the box. When these gloves ware out we'll have to get longer ones to attach to it. I have to say though mycology has become much easier with the glove box.

![]() | the rings i made for the glove box are 1/4 ash plywood and my bolts are stainless, also it was tough to drill through the rubber gloves. when i need to replace gloves i'll probably use a paper hole punch, chris

![]() | Be careful with the waterbed heater. I have set a bed on fire before lol. They are definately something I would never use for this hobby. But, my experiences with them arent all that great. Just be careful.
