    Is there a place???
    I am tired of calling contams by there color with friends, how do I find the actual name and maybe the cause of other contams. Is the green an algae? I know cobweb, but what is the black contam that my mycelium usually overtakes. But the green is no joke, huh. Maybe someone out there can help with directing me to a way to find out contams, at least the common ones.

    The most common one you here about is the green meanie Trichodrema ...

    We call it Trich for short. There are others contams to, lots of them.

    the black would be black pin mold
    green = trichoderma, trich for short
    all contams are listed in the glossary under "Growing Terms"

    The Green is Trichoderma, it is a Fungus.
    The Black Mold is Aspergillus Niger.
    Those are the most common ones other than the cobweb you mentioned. There is an awesome section in the archives about contams if you wanna know about the less common http://archives.mycotopia.net/discus...tml?1107361845
