Liquid Culture : The Mycelium looks....dirty?

I innoculated my organic honey and water LC on wednesday and I have a bunch of little white clumps growing but they have black specks in them, as if someone had taken them out and dropped them on the floor and gotten a little dirt on them. It's weird. Other people on the net have told me it's no big deal and anyway if it is, what is that anyway?

Black dots? Never seen this before. Im sure its fine. Honey had additives in it, but you said you used organic so couldn't tell ya what you got going. Before you use it on a batch of jars do a test on 1 or 2 jars to make sure its contam free.

SWIM noticed the same thing in some LC's and PF TEK Jars of GT that were inoculated about ten days ago with a dark, clumpy spore syringe. The GT LC produced white clumps of mycelium that had black specks in the middle of each cluster - like a nucleus.

This is unlike an LC of Penis Envy made at the same time (which shows only fluffy white stuff and no black specks in the middle of them). SWIM thought the black specks might disappear from the GT LC but they haven't. On the bright side, some test jars made from the LC seem to be doing fine so far.

SWIM noticed the same black specks in the PF TEK jars in the mycelium at the inoculation sites. But the black specks have disappeared from the PF TEK Jars & no contams so far.
