| Companion grow with Flax In this tray , Flax seed was sprinkled in with a potting soil casing.. Germination took about 2 days and was grown out in a location with daylight. Two weeks from spawning now , these Falbinos are ready.. One advantage i have noticed, is that the sub is easily hydrated with the plants present. The water absorbes right in , rather than rolling off the surface...It's watered like a plant , rather than misted.. I already took the largest albino for cloning, there are about 4 so far... I like the Flax because it doesn't out grow the shrooms like grass and can handle lower light levels and heat.. |

| Well initially the plants are competing for space, water and some nutrients.. If a grow is seeded too heavily ,especially with grasses , the roots will overwhelm the myc.. The benefits are limited when growing Cubes ..The Flax does provide a bit of a microclimate for pins to form but mainly it insures that the sub doesn't get over hydrated as water easily passes right thru to drain ..So just watering with a jug works well and there's less risk of molding.. |
