| Wood lovers in Florida I was wondering if anyone has experience with wood lovers in outdoor beds in a subtropical setting like South Florida? Obviously, P. azurescens and P. cyanascens are out since they need a significant temp drop to fruit. I'm thinking P. subareuginosa, P. subaeruginascens, or cyanofriscosa may be good candidates. Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated. Before anyone points out the obvious, I know cubes and pans are probably the best option for outdoor beds here, but there is soooooo much mulch everywhere. Hell, half our yard is mulch under bushes with a sprinkler. Seems to be a waste of good wood. |

| I have a P. subaeruginosa print and I'm moving back to So. FL soon. I will be doing that inside though. That species I know likes it cold. It does best right before snow. The other species I'm not sure about.

| Somehow it will. I just think that it would be somewhat difficult in Florida. I have seen someone grow it out indoors so......?? Maybe some extra special measures are needed to be taken, I'll figure out a way. Even if I have to fruit it in my fridge, where there's a will there's a way, and I really want this species to work out. Possibly in December/January if it gets cold for a couple of weeks in Florida...?? MY print is wild so I will probably start learning agar with this species. This is probably the species or strain that I'm most excited about growing.
