    LC experiment
    about a month ago i attempted an LC with honey at 3% sugar..
    The results were poor. Lots of sediment, and anything that did grow is just specks of white floating around.. not the big goobers of myc i should have gotten. My guess is the honey had preservatives or something... No contams tho from what i can tell. what's a contam look like in LC? Is it more of a thing you go by smell on?

    Anyways.. this failure has inspired me to try again.

    Jar 1 - 25ml Corn syrup : 500ml water
    Jar 2 - 17.5ml Corn syrup : 500ml water
    Jar 3 - 12.5ml Corn syrup : 500ml water
    Jar 4 - 7.5ml Corn syrup : 500ml water
    Jar 5 - 15ml Vanilla extract : 500ml water
    Jar 6 - 7.5ml Vanilla extract : 500ml water

    All jars have tyvek lids with 2 holes for air exchange and 1 silicon injection port.

    All have been injected with 1cc multispore of costa rica.

    May the best man win!

    LC contaminants are near undetectable. Common practice is to grow out your LC on a test jar.

    Good luck with your LCs. I use light malt extract, and after my first results, I think I'll be sticking with it. Plus, I bought a ton of it.

    Just remember, mycelium can form in a syringe full of pure water. It needs very light "nutrients", although I think karo just provides sugar as opposed to any sort of micronutrients.

    thnx for the test jar tip. When it comes time to use the LC i'll be sucking it up with 60cc syringes. I'll be injecting a test jar and then storing the syringe in the fridge until i see the results of the tester. if it is clean... wawawee, great success! But we'll wait and see the results of this LC side by side.. the one that does the best I'll be usin for future LC's!
