![]() | BRF to What? Hey guys, I haven't posted in a long time, but my buddy has 9 jars of BRF that are nearly 100% with some B+, and is looking to expand his operations, so to speak. Is a G2G transfer possible from cakes? Or rather, what is the ideal method to respawn these guys into some breadpans? My buddy is excited that his first attempt garnered 9 successful jars out of 14. Anticipation is killing him as this is day 23. ![]() Thanks. |

![]() | I had feared/assumed as much. How does one go about obtaining/preppin poo as a sub? And, I guess my friend's next question would be does he case with 50/50 verm/coir? Again, procurement issues might arise with the coir. Thanks, hip. That was the fastest reply time a forum has ever produced in my entire life. |

![]() | poo doesn't require any casing. it's ok to case, but can be skipped. as for poo itself, you want dried well-aged manure from cows/oxen or horses/donkeys- field-gathered is best but often stable droppings are more available but penned-up animals urinate in it so it must be leached to remove excess urine. once you have some ready just shred it fine, wet to field capacity and pasteurize it. once cool, using gloved hands, mix the poo with crumbled brf. that's the short story, for more info look in the vaults in the manure section. btw if you can't get poo locally i do sell high quality donkey poo at www.mycrotopia.com .

![]() | Very interesting. That leaves my pal two options. He can obtain poo locally or from aforementioned website. If he bought 2 gallons from your site, would that be enough or would he have extra? The 9 brf jars are 1/2-pints, btw. He doesn't really know what ratio to use when applying the spawn. And would cakes be sliced or crumbled? Thank you, once again. Kinda getting pumped now. |

![]() | an order [2 gal.] is plenty but you'd proly want to use all 9 cakes. crumble as fine as you can get it, you want as many little specks of mycellium as possible to spread throughout the poo for fastest colonization.

![]() | So, say I decide to get these 2 gallons or more of poo as a gift for my friend. What will he do then, seeing as the pasteurization step is skipped? Does he just need to bring it to field capacity, and as such, what is the preferred method for poo as a substrate? All help is much appreciated. Thank you. |
