![]() | Easy question that I can't seem to find the answer to Hi. I'm new here, but I've searched around, and can't seem to find the answer to what I would think is an easy question. My FOAF is trying her first grow, and she just finished nocc'ing up her BRF cakes (.5 pint). She just can't seem to figure out when to take the tape off the holes in the jars. I couldn't immediately answer, or tell from videos, or find the answer via searches, so I thought "lemme try those nice folks from mycotopia" So... long question short. When should you remove the masking/micropore tape that you use to cover the holes of the jars while steaming/PC'ing/sterilizing after you've nocc'ed 'em up? Thanks in advance for any help. |

![]() | originally it was common practice to leave the holes uncovered being that the dry verm layer would be enough to keep contamns out the foil is used to keep water dripping into the cake while you are pcing it, not the micopore tape micropore tape was added as an additional safe guard against contamns , being that it has "micro" pores, it doesnt need to be removed at all, it can be left on if its masking tape your using go ahead and take that shit off
