    No Consistency n substrate H2o

Is there a way to insure that every time the jars are pulled from either p.c. sterilization or boil sterilization that the moisture of the grain will be correct?

For the most part, they're always too dry. Been using cooked brown rice by itself. Is it recommended to just use dry grain & fill the jar w/a certain amount of water before sterilization & if so, will this method allow consistency to be?

Also, if this is the method preferred, what type of ratio would the rice/water amounts be for 1/2 pint jars?

    Muchas Gracias for any/all suggestions.

With rice it's best to use the PF TEK or Hips supercake recipe.
The rice alone usually sticks together to much to really be a successful
sub IME. When doing grains such as Rye or WBS the best bet is to soak for 24 hrs, drain, let dry a bit and then do the pc run
