Hips LC method..... One question

I plan to use this method:

prep pint jar by poking 2 holes, near rim on opposite sides
add blob of RTV silicon adhesive above/below each hole. let dry about an hour,
fill jar 2/3s full with distilled water
add 1 tablespoon of Karo [optional- add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extratct too]
place the lids rubberside down on the jars
but leave the rim bands loose so lid can rise/fall as pressure changes.
PC at 5 psi [lowest setting] for 20-25 minutes
then allow to cool.
once cool, tighten rim bands
use an airport syringe to release the vacuum.
inject spores then incubate.
place airport in one port, fill empty sterile syringes thru other port."

I plan on doing this very soon, But i was wondering if I could use Micropore tape on one hole to replace the act of using a syringe to release the vacuum???

IME micropore tape gets wet to easily for LCs. wet tape=contams

Leave the container 1/3 empty and you will have plenty of fresh air. Just swirl regularly (2-3 times per day).

You need to let the silicone dry overnight.

Don't screw with the micropore tape - major contamination vector. The airport will do everything you need.

You want to use 1 tablespoon karo per 500 mls of water.
Not to 2/3rds of a pint.

Microwave for 5 minutes works awsome, if you use plastic lids.
