    Bamboo + Azurescens?

I heard a rumor this evening about someone growing azurescens indoors on bamboo. It's FOAFOAF style information, but was curious as to if any of the woodlover pro's have ever tried this method before?

I'm going to delve into the information a little deeper over the next week.

I can tell you from my tests that after 5 months P. Cyans will not grow into bamboo. I have'nt tried Azure but have been meaning to. I have beds of azure , cyanofriscosa and p. ovids and was hoping to try all of them with bamboo.

On another note Cubensis loves bamboo ! Tried it a few times ...

When I find out about the Azure on bamboo chips i'll post it in the thread below. If you get there first give us a report.

Thanks, hyph. Was looking for responses from you and Waylit specifically. I doubt I'll be trying any time soon. My set up is pretty bootleg until January at the earliest, and I'm just barely scratching by w/ the TEKs I'm implementing for my cube grows.

I definitely will join up on the research end when I have everything together like I want it.

I meant to update this for the record. P. Cyans mycelium does indeed like Bamboo. In fact it really likes it. What was happening was the Bamboo bed I had was heavily covered by cedar trees and it was not getting much rain. I watered it from time to time but could have done better.

Turns out that Bamboo chips can dry out quite quickly on the top of the bed. When I watered them good followed by steady rains , sure enough the growth was excellent. Even the "dry" pieces reanimated. A good sign was that the bed is completely inter-locked with mycelium.

Sorry for not updating this earlier. Hopefully there will be some P. Cyans fruiting on the Bamboo and I can document it. For now I can say that Bamboo makes an excellent spawning material for this species.

I'll do a check on Bamboo chips for Azures , Ovids and Cyanofriscosa shortly... before the snow flies.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the update! I had taken your word for it and told my friend to tell his friend to tell his friend that he's dumb and wrong. I shall recant henceforth.

Now, to see if someone in the SE can grow azures indoors on bamboo...
