![]() ![]() | Storing P. Cyans Fruit Well I went and checked my P. Cyan bed made last year and topped up with chips this fall. The soil layer on top is literally bursting with mycelium. Everywhere that there is a plant the bottom 1/2 inch is white mycelium. Even rocks have fans of mycelium ! I shit you not. Rocks that are sedimentary even have white in between cracks and layers. I'm really confident that this bed will fruit at its nearest convenience ... I've heard tell that P. Cyans don't dry and store well the same way cubies do. Is this true ? Can I dry them very well and put them away or do I have to make something like a magic honey ? Any comments appreciated. I have other beds of Azure and Cyanofriscosa that are not as far along as the P. Cyans , but are there storage issues with them as well ? Thanks

![]() | I went to Seattle last year and picked almost a dry pound of cyans. They keep just fine, mine lasted until spring and may have lasted even longer if they weren't gobbled up. Just make sure, as with any mushroom, that they are cracker dry. The other thing is they are really light when dried, so much less eh... commercially viable.

![]() | Pretty sure I read a post by Waylitjim saying that he just stores them in the freezer like we do with other dung loving species with no real potency loss. I've stored Weilii for extended periods of time - dried in the freezer with little or no potency loss. I would imagine that storing them in honey is the best way to go for prolonged storage - greater than one year - since honey would protect the material from exposure to oxygen and - to a degree - light exposure as well. I keep my honey in the freezer too. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Supposedly , the shrooms that contain a relatively high ratio of psilocin are the ones that seem to lose potency more rapidly. The psilocybin content should remain fairly stable, no matter the specie... Azures and Pan cyan were listed as having high psilocin content and therefore ,lose potency more than others...I hear that Ps. cyan keep much better than Azures... |
