![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lazlo's Grain Tek: check this out Lazlo Well I been using this wbs grain tek now with not 1 contam for months. Fooman pointed out to me, to try using boiling water instead of just hot tap water during the grain soak. well i tried it. and it works 100 percent as well. except you only soak for 1 hour bc the heat speeds up the soak time. it works 100% so just for information. if you need a quick grain soak, you can do it in an hour with great results!! also, you just bring the water to a slight boil then dump it over the grain. strain as per lazlos tek. Oh and props bc your grain tek rocks and with 1 hour soak time its even better!

![]() | I actually meant to add that in case someones hot water isn't that hot. Not boiling water, but heated to a nice steam. You have to be really careful though. The seed can easily burst if you allow it to soak for too long in a pot that holds heat well.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In order as what I was saying that aquavelva suggested. 1. Start from the beginning by boiling a big pot of water. tap or whatever. tap works fine. 2. get another big pot put your wbs in there. 3. once water comes to a slight boil and you see it bubbling on the top, its done. 4. dump the water over the wbs grain in that other big bowl. 5. cover that with another bowl to keep the heat in. take note, there is no lime added either and it works. im not suggesting not using lime bc adding lime can't ever hurt and ill do it anyway, depending on mood and supplies lol. 6. let it soak for an hour. then it will expand. 7. follow the part where you strain and thats it. load jars pc for 1.5 hours. its a very similar tek almost the same tek just using boiling water. it slightly cuts your time down. to me that makes all the difference. and just don't go too long on the soak so the grain doesn't burst. 60 mins is perfect. credit.. aquavelva it takes alot for me to switch styles. and these teks definitely were great enough to make me switch. they are very good grain teks. probably the easiest around. and the best thing is that it will work with any grain. rye berry, wbs. popcorn is a little different. but most regular grains should work this way. i didn't find the boiling water to cause any problems at all out of 3 cooks already. 100 percent! actually since i switched to lazlos tek about 6 months ago. i have not had one jar contam. thats awesome! ![]() ![]() also ill try getting aqua to post this tek up bc his explanation is better than mine. i just wrote this up for inquiring minds real quick. its no way in shape or form anything i did. thank lazlo and aqua. good stuff!

![]() | Mine takes less than an hour. Usually after 15-20 minutes mine is swollen up nicely. But my hot water heater is bumped up because I like mega hot showers. Heh

![]() ![]() | A quick question for you Lazlo. Why pc for 105 min when most teks say 90 min for grains? Just dont want to overcook them.

![]() | This is interesting because I soak wheat berries for 1 day simmer for 40-60 minutes PC for 2 hours If I simmer on the lowest heat, the berries won't even expand. It's lifestock feed grade, last years harvest, maybe thats the cause. Will try this TEK with the wheat from this years harvest So just soak it in boiled water for ~1hour then PC for an other 1.5h without giving any water to it? |
