![]() | Casing question I am planning on casing my first bulk grow today. I am using 50% verm and 50% coir. Do I have to pasterize the vem and coir like I did my bulk sub? And if so can I pasterize it in a pillow case like I did my bulk and let it drip ry? And would it help with contams if I added a little lime to the verm and coir and mixed it up good before using it. |

![]() | Yes you should pasteurize the casing. I add lime as I"m pasteurizing mine Also some Calcium carbonate will help. You can get it at pet stores as reptile/hermit crab sand. This will work wonders for you. Good luck

![]() | Because it works very well and many people already have it on hand. Also it is easier to get for some than vermiculite. It tends to change to an almost orangish color as it dries out as well. FOAF uses it instead of verm. and has had decent results for first time casing using WBS spawned to cow poo/coir. ![]()
